[Contains Spoilers Of: Animator vs Animation 8 (The Showdown)]
Part I - The Problem
How. Just how is this possible.
How can The Showdown be already released while The Showdown was still happening???
Also, in The Virus, the date on the bottom corner of Alan's screen made it clear that this happened in 2018. If so, how could TCO and TDL witness a video that didn't get released until 2020???
This is so confusing that I pretty much lost all hope of investigating, until I saw this on reddit:
The memory rewind was fast, despite the event was three years ago...?
Time distortion...?
THIS. COULD BE USEFUL INFORMATION!!!!
Part II - The Investigation
The scanner's rewind WAS fast. In fact, when rewinding just a few minutes of info, we can actually see the distance of the progress bar moving. Normally this would be normal, but here's the problem:
It's The Chosen One's memory. Which means SEVENTEEN YEARS OF FOOTAGE.
... You can see the problem, right?
HOW THE HECK IS IT REWINDING THAT FAST
WITH THAT SPEED, IT IS REWINDING MINUTES OF FOOTAGE LIKE IT'S MONTHS-
Wait a minute... I THINK I GET IT NOW!!
Part III: The Time Theory
The time in our universe (and Alan's universe) runs at a different speed as the Outernet (The world TCO and TDL lives in).
For them, AVA Season 2 lasted for a few minutes. For us, it was two years, exactly how long it took for Alan to update the entire season. This means that by the time The Showdown happened, two years had passed, and it's exactly Oct 24 (The release date) despite the fact that Season 2 started in 2018. That is how they saw the video, and it explains why the few minutes rewind looked like it was a few months - because it WAS a few months for us if there was such a time difference!
But there is one problem.
This shot happened AFTER the scene with TCO and TDL seeing The Showdown. And yet, it was still 2018, only a few minutes since the gang left Alan's PC. What went wrong? Wasn't it supposed to be two years? And, when Alan went to help TCO with his cursor, the time between the two universes are the same. What is going on?
And there was another issue. According to Skyblock (Episode 11 of AVM), AVM Season 1 (Episode 8 and beyond) happened in 2019. But that can't be possible, right? In this theory, AVA Season 2 happens lasts between 2018 and 2020, which includes 2019. How can AVM Season 1 happen while AVA Season 2 was happening at the same time, with the same cast in two different locations simultaneously?
But ironically enough, those two problems were the very thing that made me come up with a perfect solution not only for both of them, but also along with the very first question that I asked at the very beginning.
How can The Showdown be already released while The Showdown was still happening?
The portal between Alan's PC and the Outernet likely caused a time distortion. Despite Alan's world was in 2018, he and his computer were witnessing events in the Outernet time - which basically means, Alan is seeing and interacting with the future, and is seeing the events of The Showdown the same way we do.
However, because Alan is still in 2018, this made something interesting happen. After The Showdown, when Alan takes The Colored Gang back home, they time traveled from 2020 back to 2018. Then The Colored Gang went to Skyblock in Season 1 of AVM, and there is no problem at all!
This also means that, despite technically before The Showdown had happened, Alan had already witnessed the entire event. This then results in Alan animating and releasing The Showdown in 2020, which then gets witnessed by TCO and TDL when The Showdown eventually happens!
And that, is the Time Theory!
But hey, that's just a theory!
An Alan Becker theory!
