Hello, guys! Welcome to another story by yours truly, Deliah Rose - or , whichever you prefer.

So, this story was originally written for the Nightshade Claws - A Writing Quest hosted by . I chose the fifth prompt in the contest:

A war has broken out in your kingdom. You're a nurse assigned to tend to the wounded soldiers, on the battlefield. One evening while surveying the war-zone, you meet the most handsome man you've ever seen. He implores you to save him. Out of kindness, you decide to look after him and save his life. However, you're oblivious to the fact that he is the leader of the enemy's army.

I hope I have done this prompt justice with my story.

The original version was supposed to be two-thousand words, but since editing/rewriting this story it will be longer. Personally, I felt that there was so much more I wanted to delve into when writing this story. Also, I really wanted an excuse to incorporate this story into the world of City of Clouds, but before that story takes place.

This story takes place at the same time as The Obsidian Rose, as well. However, you do not need to read either story to understand what is occurring in this one. It's just to let you guys know that if you enjoy this story, then there are more that you should check out on my profile. ;)
