"...And that's why my project is this sick as hell railgun!" Thad exclaimed to his class of half-frightened and half-impressed group of classmates.

"Thad... the homework assignment was a word problem about watermelons..." The teacher said in his usual bored tone.

"Sorry teach, I just-"

Rrrrring...

"Thaaat's the bell. Everyone can go home now."

As Thad left the classroom, he remembered that there were some new students he should probably go talk to.

"Hey, New Stuff!" Thad said to the elegantly dressed newcomers.

They didn't reply, just simply stared at him as if he was talking gibberish.

"Right, I heard you guys grew up in a mansion. Er- What brings you to Copper-9?"

"Our frie- owner had to do something with JcJenson that we weren't allowed to see. We're here to mine this place for its materials!" The butler chirped." Doesn't look like there's much mining going on, though." The maid with pigtails growled.

"Well... we can't mine much with the murder drones around.."

The maid with glasses looked bewildered."M-Murder drones?!"

"Don't worry! We have the WDF here to defend us." Thad pointed to a poster of Khan, the WDF leader and the group seemed to relax.

"I'm going to sneak out to the Murder Drone's lair tonight to try and earn Khan's respect, you guys want to come?"

V and J looked at each other in disgust, both seeming to think:

What is this numbskull asking us to do?

"Sure! I love doing anything!" voiced the ever-chipper N.

"Alright, just give me your room number and we'll get this party started." Thad said with an air of confidence that made even N flinch.

Thad's internal clock woke him up. His visor read 2:30 AM, the perfect amount of time to grab his railgun and get N under the cover of darkness.

His room was decorated with a massive trophy collection. Most of his medals were for sports, but a few were for community service. Underneath a mannequin with his football gear was a cabinet with a bunch of engineering junk. He moved aside his countless broken RC cars and failed prototypes and snatched his almost-finished railgun.

As he slinked through his dark living area, he paused. It was a picture of his sister, Lizzy. He took a shaky breath in. His friend, Doll, just snapped one day. Her eyes turned yellow and she killed both Lizzy and another girl. Next thing he knew, there were reports of eldritch monsters that looked like his friends disassembling anyone they saw. Stay focused.

Thad bounded through the corridors of the colony.

C1, C3, C4... Yes, here it is, C6! He skidded to a halt in front of the living chamber. After three knocks, a messy-haired N answered the door.

"Heh, when you said you were going to 'sneak out' I didn't think you meant doing it at this hour!" N mumbled with a weary smile.

"Yeah, sorry about that... By the way, what's your name? I didn't catch it."

"I'm Serial Designation N! You're Thad, right?" He questioned. Thad nodded in return."Nice to meet you, N. Do you plan on switching out that... getup?"

N looked slightly downcast. "Maybe later. Hard to repress stuff when you're wearing the outfit that you wore when you witnessed..."
