Himiko Toga had always thought of her life as normal. She'd crave blood from animals she loved, boys she loved, girls she loved – anything and anyone she loved, really – and that was her normal. But this frightened her parents. They pleaded, begging her to be like the other kids. Normal.
Toga would give them a plain smile during those times, their voices shaking in utter fear as they spoke. "Stop that!" her mother cried at the sight of Toga draining the blood from a deceased sparrow. "What do you think you're doing?!"
"And stop making that creepy smile!" her father demanded. "You look like some sorta deviant!"
Deviant.
Toga never properly expressed how she felt about that comment, but it stung.
Since then, Toga forged a mask, causing others to see her as the "cheerful and well-behaved girl", whilst her true self was hidden under the wraps.
During middle school, Toga witnessed a boy named Saito who attended her school getting covered in blood while fighting some other student, and she developed what she believed to be love towards him.
She wanted to confess her feelings and ask Saito for some of his blood, but refrained from doing so, realizing that that would only result in her crush seeing her as a freak.
That's why when Ochaco Uraraka – a girl Himiko had deep feelings for – offered to give her blood for the rest of her life, Toga couldn't understand.
Why would a hero help a villain?
A villain such as Toga, who felt the need to drink the blood from those she loved?
It made no sense.
Hello! Thank you for reading my story! I appreciate it. I'm sorry, I know this was quite short, but I didn't exactly want to make a long story for my first one on Wattpad. But I hope you enjoyed it, nevertheless.
