Bloody smile

''Ivan...''

Till was staring blankly at Ivan's body, not able to conceive what had just happened. After he stopped singing, before he even knew it, Ivan appeared beside him, kissed him aggressively, proceeded to choke him and then fell on the stage floor with a bloody smile engraved on his face.

The silver haired man had never seen Ivan something more than a freak who would intentionally hurt him, or just act really strangely when he was around. So, how come he feels so...lost? Why is he praying for the black haired man in front of him to open his eyes and smile once more?

Till kneeled down close to Ivan's body and swept away a strand of his blood-soaked hair with his trembling hand. He bit his lower lip in an effort to hold back tears.

<<Ivan, you dumbass, wake up now.>>, he stuttered, while shaking Ivan's shoulder. No response.

When Till felt two pairs of arms dragging him away, he fought with all of his will power to prevent the increasing distance between him and the man that was lying on the floor. However, his weak body betrayed him, a result of undereating and endless nights of scant sleep, because of the loss of his most beloved person:Mizi. Mizi... And now he was unable to do anything for the person that seemingly sacrificed himself for Till to survive. All of those swirling thoughts came to an end when a strike on the back of his head left him unconscious.

{Ivan:'' Come on, I want to show you something!''

Till:'' Ivaan, what is it again?'', he groaned.

The raven black haired boy gripped his wrist and dragged him along. Till felt like they were running for hours when suddenly, he found himself in an open field. The night sky was flooded with burning asteroids. Freedom...

Memories...

Ivan watching him, Ivan freeing him, Ivan removing his collar...

Ivan punching him, Ivan teasing him...

Ivan smiling...}

Till woke up violently, escaping his dreams which depicted fading memories of the past, only to realize that he was out of breath and in sweat. After some minutes that seemed centuries, he calmed down and ran his fingers through his messy hair. Then, he processed his surroundings cautiously. He was sitting on a bed, covered in white sheets, somewhat dirty. His gaze travelled around the underground, as it seems, dark place. Graffiti stained the rusty walls. There was a faint source of sunlight coming from a small window, creating warm strips on the bed and ending on the ground.

The numb boy looked to his left and saw a small-sized counter with a plastic bottle of water. Only then did he realize how thirsty he was and without wasting any time, he took the bottle and gulped the cool water down. When he was done, he placed it on the counter and made an effort to get up from bed. For some reason, his insticts were reassuring him that he was safe in here, considering the fact that he wasn't tied in any way.

Then, he remembered... His eyes widened as the picture of Ivan at his last moments conquered his mind.

<<Damn you, Ivan>>, he mumbled frustrated.

<<Oh? Till?>>, a high pitched voice said.

And Till knew. He could recognise that voice anywhere, anytime.

<<Mizi?>>, he breathed.

A pink haired girl with glasses before her expressive, green eyes approached him with a smile that could make the world collapse. She seemed different from the last time Till had seen her. Stronger, healthier... Prettier...

<<I am so happy you recovered!>>, she said happily, but right after, she took a serious expression. <<Ivan, however...>>, she mumbled in sorrow.

Till flinched at the mention of the man's name. Even though he was glad that Mizi was sound and safe, he found himself unable to get rid of Ivan's image and enjoy his freedom with her.

<<Anyway, um->>, she made an effort to hide her breaking voice.

<<Did you go out of your way to rescue me?>>, Till interrupted, head down.

<<It was not only me. I had help.>>, the girl chuckled. <<Sadly, Huyna is seriously  injured though...>>, she continued. <<Anyway, you are with the rebels now! As one yourself, I bet you won't have a hard time adapting!>>, she said cheerfully, patting his shoulder friendly.

<<Thanks Mizi. I appreciate that.>>, Till managed to say, lowering his head more so Mizi wouldn't see him blushing.

<<I see you need some time alone... I will be by the next door if you need anything! Whenever you are ready, call me and I will introduce you to... Well, I only know Dewey and Isaac...>>, the last sentence sounded more like a reminder to herself.  <<Also, you can train with our team to go on missions! See you Till!>>, Mizi waved and closed the metallic door behind her.

The boy just stood there, experiencing a feeling he had never encountered before. He found her just to lose him. A never ending cycle of grief. A burning sense was building upon his throat. He collapsed on his bed and curled into fetal position, struggling with his own emotions.
