CASSIDY ANDERSON PUSHED OPEN THE heavy stairwell door, stepping into the bullpen of Intelligence with a low exhale. The morning hum of the unit was already underway—phones ringing, keyboards clacking, coffee brewing. She moved with practiced rhythm, hanging her leather jacket on the back of her chair, dropping her bag to the floor.

But if anyone was paying attention, they might've noticed the subtle shift.

Her step was lighter. Her eyes softer. Her skin still kissed by the warm hush of last night.

She made a beeline for the break room. From across the room, Erin Lindsay clocked it instantly.

She waited a beat before following Cassidy inside, her brows lifted with curiosity. Cassidy stood with her back turned, opening the cabinet with a little too much casualness, reaching for a mug like it didn't matter she hadn't said hello to anyone yet.

"Cassie..." Erin said, drawing out the nickname like a hunch she was dying to confirm.

Cassidy didn't turn around. "What's up, E?" she asked, pouring black coffee into her cup with laser focus.

"Oh my God," Erin gasped with a grin. "You did."

Cassidy nearly sloshed the coffee over the side of the mug. "Did what?" she asked too fast, eyes narrowing in confusion—or maybe panic.

"You had sex last night."

Cassidy choked on her sip. "What the hell, Erin?"

"You're glowing," Erin declared, arms crossed, grinning like a kid on Christmas morning. "You walk in here like a whole new woman. That's not 'I got good sleep' energy. That's 'someone rocked my world' energy."

Cassidy groaned, turning away to sip her coffee and hide the half-smile tugging at her lips. "You're imagining things."

"Oh, please," Erin laughed. "You're a terrible liar. Spill it. Who was it?"

Cassidy played it cool, shrugged. "It was just a guy."

Erin snorted. "Uh-huh. 'Just a guy.' That's what people say when the guy is definitely not just a guy."

Cassidy sighed, hiding her growing smile behind her cup. "You're insufferable."

"And you're deflecting." Erin was about to push harder when both women heard the sound of Ruzek's heavy boots clomping up the stairs.
