I kept staring at this little box, still didn't completely understand what it was meant for though, my dad has his pin, my brother his ring...what was my moms? Did she even have one? She wasn't born royal, dad just fell for her. Hard.
walking down the stairs I thought of something My dad told me to go see my mom for something, but I promised Avner I'd go meet him...Avner would understand. it's a direct order from the king, my dad, he can't be mad at me for that. So I made my way down 2 staircases, made my way down another long hall, scarlet red walls here, and reached my bedroom. It was simple a white door leading into a not so grand room. It was big and had a balcony, on suite, and enormous closet, a queen sized bed with a white leather headboard, silver vanity, desk, a few comfy chairs, in a room with navy blue wallpaper with silver whimsical designs on it.
I saw my mom sitting outside in one of the chairs in the balcony, I made my way over and opened the Balcony doors.
"Hey mom" I said taking a the seat next to hers. She smiled up at me, my room faces the gardens and I really hoped if Avner saw me he'd see my mother and understand I couldnt make it.
"Hello darling, did you speak with your father?" I nodded and handed her the little box she looked at it for a second then it floated out of her hand and made its way back in my room little silver streaks pushing it over and setting it on my desk "Keep it safe Midnight, someday it could mean life or death for you and you have to understand that"
I was a little shocked at the change of mood but I nodded. I dont know why but I couldnt really find the energy to say anything.
"Well time to plan you and your sisters party, your sister is a little under the weather today, oh dont worry!" she stopped me before I could ask if she was alright "She's fine just a headache so we'll plan it together, first things first the ballroom is being set up right now...but" She leaned closer and whispered "Your father insists on Classical music only but, give a call to Harmony she'll be there and I'm sure she won't mind making things a little more fun for all of you" she sat up again and smiled.
"Thanks mom...hey I actually have an idea. Me and Dawn and the rest of us..Balls are just not our thing gowns and suits ext, I wondered if we could make it less formal?" I asked and she considered it for a second "Midnight, I think I have an idea to make this a celebration to remember, but you must go through with the formalities, only for half an hour until your father would be happy enough not to ruin it all. now that I know what you girls want.." She stood up "Leave it up to me, Luna should be here soon to start your lessons, goodbye" She said and left the room.
So I just waited, and the week went by really fast after that nothing much happened it was boring, I didn't see Avner but I knew I would see him at the Ball, so I knew I'd be able to apologize. I was so excited, I trusted my mother it would be great.
