"Enjoying the show, Miss?"
The sudden voice broke through the music causing Indie to startle. She turned to see a guy leaning casually against a palm tree with a mysterious smile playing on his lips.
Her heart raced as she struggled to find her words, her cheeks now flushing with embarrassment at being caught in her moment of eavesdropping.
"I... I didn't mean to intrude. I just couldn't resist the music." she muttered softly. Her voice trailing off in the warm evening air.
The guy's gaze bore into her. His eyes holding a captivating intensity that sent a shiver down her spine.
"You have good taste then." he remarked. His voice carrying a playful charm that left Indie feeling both intrigued and unsettled.
"Oh, how rude of me. I'm Reece by the way, and that's Blake over there. The one you were just admiring." Reece teased gesturing towards Blake with a mischievous grin.
As the encounter unfolded, Indie couldn't hide her embarrassment anymore as she feels the weight of Blake's gaze on her. The air crackled with unspoken tension, adding to the intrigue surrounding the two guys. Indie's palms grew clammy as she searched for something to say. The silence between them almost palpable as her cheeks were burning hotter by the second.
"Cat got your tongue Missy?" Reece quipped. A hint of amusement in his expression.
"What?" Indie responded getting caught off guard by the comment.
"I just asked for your name." Reece chuckled. A playful glint in his eyes. Indie tried to steady her voice, but it came out as a nervous stutter.
"Um, sorry. I'm Indie. I... I happened to pass by and heard this guy singing." She explained awkwardly, gesturing towards Blake.
"He does have a name, Indie." Reece teased. His tone light with amusement.
I mean, Blake. Your singing is... amazing. I've never heard a voice quite like yours except maybe my favorite band, Sonic Horizon." Indie said. Her voice barely above a whisper.
The playful Reece just laugh at my words. His laughter making Indie's situation even more awkward. How she wish she could give this guy a lesson.
"Well, well, what a rare moment it is to meet a Sonic Horizon fan. I'm glad you think so. Blake's voice is truly a treasure."
Indie's gaze shifted back to Blake only to find his once warm expression while singing a while ago replaced by an icy glare. A chill ran through her veins as she wondered why this mysterious guy seemed so displeased with her. Despite the sudden change, her curiosity grew stronger compelling her to unravel the mystery hidden behind those captivating blue eyes. Lost in the intensity of their gazes, Indie can feel the abnormal beating of her heart.
As she is thinking of a way to escape at her embarrassing situation, Reece suddenly leaned in closer to her and whispered something that almost choke her to death.
"You seem so drawn to him. I can clearly see it in your eyes, Miss. But be careful, some things are better left undiscovered."
"W...what are you talking about?" Indie just want to slap her self for stuttering again. Things couldn't just be more embarrassing at this moment.
"A lot of them tried Indie but they all failed." Reece added as she started to get confused by his words.
"I'm going inside." Blake suddenly cut off their conversation as he walked away from us.
"See you around, Indie." Reece wink at her and gave her a flying kisses. She just rolled her eyes at his childishness.
...
Later that evening, Indie found herself lying in bed, the events of the night replaying in her mind like a broken record. Reece’s playful charm contrasted sharply with Blake’s brooding demeanor, and she couldn’t shake how his icy glare had pierced through her. What had she done to provoke that? Rolling over, she stared at the ceiling, her heart racing as she thought about Blake. There was something about him—something magnetic yet terrifying. She felt drawn to him in a way that made her stomach flutter and her palms sweat. Indie's mind is now whirled with questions. Her curiosity ignited like a flame. Who was this mysterious guy named Blake? And what secrets did he hold? Even after they left, she could still feel Blake's gaze piercing through her soul. And in that moment, Indie knew that she was about to start on a journey that would test her limits and unravel the mysteries of her own heart. And the path she was about to tread would lead her into a world where love and heartbreak intertwined. Where every step she took would bring her closer and closer to the edge of a cliff that threatened to shatter everything she thought she knew about love and life.
