Y/N'S POV

My blood runs cold. The world narrows to the gun pointed at Jinyoung's head, the cold metal digging into his temple. My breath hitches, a strangled gasp escaping my lips. The scene before me unfolds in slow motion and panic claws at my throat. Jay's words echo in my skull, a horrifying truth whispered in the tense silence: I'd been a fool. My mind reels. The friendly coffee deliveries, the shared jokes, the way Jinyoung always seemed to know how to make me smile—was it all a carefully crafted illusion?

"Jinyoung," I croak, my voice barely a whisper. His eyes flick to mine, a flicker of desperation battling with something else I can't decipher. Is it regret? Pity?

"Y/N, I—" He starts, but Jay cuts him off with a sneer.

"Shut it," He growls, the gun still trained on Jinyoung. "You've caused enough trouble as it is." Before I know it, he opens the door and gets out, grabbing Jinyoung by the collar before he drags him out. And I watch, horrified, as he inspects Jinyoung for hidden weapons.

My heart hammers against my ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the chilling silence. Fear explodes in my chest, a cold dread that paralyzes me. Jinyoung looks pale, his body trembling under Jay's harsh grip, but it all makes me sick. The betrayal stings, a fresh wound layered on top of countless others that haven't fully healed. "Believe me, I know nothing!" He scrambles to defend himself, voice cracking with desperation. "They threatened me, I don't know who they—"

"You better have a damn good explanation for this when they interrogate you back at the headquarters," Jay cuts him off, dragging him along before he opens my door and ushers me to step out. I do, the cool evening air a harsh contrast to the heat of the confrontation, as he shives Jinyoung roughly into the back seats and slams the door shut. "Get in," He says, his voice softer but still authoritative, and I mindlessly climb into the front passenger seat, clasping my hands together while he slides into the driver's seat. "Consider yourself lucky I haven't killed you, Jinyoung. But once we get back, if you don't sing like a fucking canary about who's behind this, you're a dead man."

The car speeds away, leaving the deserted road behind. This is madness, I know. But I'm too horrified, too shocked to protest. A wave of nausea washes over me. The closest person to me, someone I trusted, had been deceiving me all along. I clutch my hands tightly together, trying to steady myself, but the betrayal feels like a dagger twisting in my gut. I don't even spare him a glance from the rearview, not able to witness the anguish and guilt etched on his face. The man I once considered a friend is now a stranger, his actions a chilling reminder of how easily trust can be shattered.

Jay's grip on the steering wheel is tight, his knuckles white with tension. I don't say a word. I let him take control because, as much as I want to deny it, he's the reason I'm not kidnapped or worse. Murdered. And so, when we pull up to a building that looks more like a fortress than a workplace, a cold dread settles in my stomach. It's massive, imposing, and constructed from dark, forbidding stone. Floodlights illuminate the FBI seal emblazoned above the entrance, warning off anyone who dares to approach without proper authorization. I swallow hard, the lump in my throat growing larger with each passing moment. This is serious, more serious than I ever imagined.

The engine is cut as Jay throws the car into park, his movements clipped and efficient. He doesn't glance at me, but I can feel his gaze burning into me. Before I can even question where we're going, he's already out of the car, dragging Jinyoung like a ragdoll behind him. I scramble out after them, my legs feeling like jelly beneath me.

The FBI headquarters are just as intimidating on the inside as they are on the outside. I follow Jay as he walks towards a security checkpoint, Jinyoung groaning weakly in protest with every yank of his arm. Guards emerge from recessed doorways, their expressions stoic and alert. They're built like brick walls, their suits straining against broad shoulders, and they wear holsters with unmistakable bulges at their hips. Jay throws one curt nod in their direction and they take Jinyoung, not even bothering to ask questions.
