~After dinner~

Everyone has their dinner together. After dinner, Mrs. Hoya called the family together for an important announcement.

Mrs. Hoya : As you all know, our family has a tradition. The woman who carries our heir becomes the owner of this house. Given that Y/n is expecting, I've decided to make her the owner of the house.

Dalny's face fell, the weight of Mrs. Hoya's words hitting her hard. She had always put in effort to be a good daughter-in-law.

Y/n: Wait!! I think Dalny deserves this position more than me. She had been working hard for the family.

Mrs. Hoya : This is our tradition. You are carrying our heir not Dalny. Dalny, I'm sorry, but Y/n deserves this honor not you.

Dalny felt a pang of hurt and resentment. She forced a smile and nodded.

Y/n: What the hell—

Dalny : I-It's okay. I understand, mom. Congratulations, Y/n.

Y/n sensed Dalny's discomfort but didn't know how to bridge the gap.

~Later days~

Since the news of Y/n's pregnancy, the atmosphere in the house changed. Mrs. Hoya, who had been indifferent and harsh towards Y/n, now showered her with attention and care. Y/n found herself at the center of the family's focus, especially from Mrs. Hoya, who saw the unborn child as the future of their lineage.

Dalny, on the other hand, felt increasingly isolated. Mrs. Hoya's behavior towards her became cold and distant. The once cordial relationship was now strained with palpable tension.

Currently, Dalny was laying on the bed in the evening. She immediately sat straight as Mrs. Hoya entered the room.

Mrs. Hoya: Dalny! Y/n will come anytime from her workplace. Go and make juice for her.

Dalny : B-But mom..I am extremely tired. She can make it her own.

Mrs. Hoya: What? She is pregnant! I will not take any risk!!

Dalny : But I am too–

Mrs. Hoya : Please Dalny! I expected you to give me good news but Y/n did that. So at least do the households properly. And...

Dalny : And what mom?

Mrs. Hoya: Dalny...I think you should do an infertility test...I doubt. I think you are infertile....I am saying this for good.

Dalny felt a sharp pain of hurt. Tears formed in her eyes listening to her words.

~Shu's workplace~

Commissioner: Shu! I have a special case for you! I hope you are able to do that. Can you?

Shu : Yes sir!!

~Later that night~

Shu : I am back!

Shu said as he entered their bedroom. Y/n hugged him tightly.

Shu : Missed me? Hmm?

Y/n: Yes! Not only me. Our baby misses you too.

Shu chuckled as he caressed her belly but frowned when he saw her tense.

Shu : What happened? Aunt said something to you? Or she–

Y/n : No...she is taking care of me so much.

Shu : Then what's the problem? Isn't it good?

Y/n: It is good but she is making Dalny work and she is behaving differently to her too. I think Dalny feels like she got neglected by us. Maybe she feels like it's because of my pregnancy because I am getting the whole family's attention.

Shu : Hmm...I understand Y/n. I will try to talk to Free brother regarding this matter. Only he can make her feel that we are not neglecting her.

Y/n: Hope so...

Shu : By the way Y/n...I want to tell you that I am going out of station regarding a case.
