Welcome all! I, obviously, haven't been gone too long but I've been so excited to start out with this new series I decided that I'll go ahead and post the prologue.
Without further ado, welcome to Rugrats: The Preschool Years!
He couldn't believe it was true, he couldn't believe today was the actual day he would be taking his first steps closer to being a grown up! That's right, a now three year old Tommy Pickles was standing outside the front door of his house with Stu, Didi and Dil early on a Monday morning. They were waiting for the Woodbury preschool bus to arrive to pick Tommy up and frankly Tommy was very excited about the matter! He had on a yellow shirt with red shorts and the new pair of brown shoes, very similar to his old pair, he had gotten a couple months back at the shopping mall with his friends. To top it off he also had his Reptar themed backpack and inside a Reptar themed steel lunch box he got for his birthday!
"Now, you have a good day at preschool sweetie." Didi cooed, giving Tommy a hug
"Yeah and be sure to tell us all about your day when you get home, champ." Stu chuckled, ruffling Tommy's hair
"Okay me will!" Tommy replied, as Stu ruffled his hair
However, Tommy noticed his brother was sitting on the small steps of the porch area, a glum look visible on his face. Dil knew the day was coming, but he still wasn't ready to see his big brother go off to school and leave him behind to play on his own. Wanting to cheer up his brother a bit, Tommy made his way back to the steps to talk to Dil for a bit.
"Hey Dilly, are you still sad that I has to go to preschool?" Tommy asked
Dil nodded, looking up at his brother with a sad expression, as his bottom lip began to tremble.
"I don't wants you to go." Dil whimpered
"I knows Dilly but I gotta, it's gonna be okay, I can tell yous all the neat stuff I learns. Asides it's not like you'll be alone all the time, I'm sure Savannah's mommy will lets her and her sister come plays with you." Tommy reassured his younger brother
"Yeah...I guess you're right. Okay I'll try not to be sad no mores! Asides it gives me all the time in the worlds to keep practicing to use the potty." Dil replied, rubbing away the small tears that had formed in his eyes.
Dil was still working on getting the whole potty training deal down after about 4 months ago he attempted to try and potty train himself especially after witnessing his best friend, Savannah, be completely potty trained before she turned two. It only made him more determined to learn. In the end, he wasn't fully trained but seeing as he was clearly interested in it at the time, Didi went ahead and started getting him training pants to wear along with some maroon colored shorts as he continued learning.
"Yay! You go Dilly!" Tommy cheered, happy his brother was going to try and keep his chin up while he was gone
After another couple minutes waiting, the yellow bus was making its way down towards the Pickles' residence. Spotting that the bus was coming he made sure to give Dil, Stu, and Didi a hug as the bus pulled up to the curb of the sidewalk where Tommy stood to wait.
"Bye bye Tommy!" Didi and Stu called out to him
"Bye Bye Mommy! Bye Bye Daddy! Bye Bye Dilly!" Tommy waved back to his family just as the bus slowed to a stop, opening the door to allow Tommy onto the bus.
Tommy then took a deep breath as he reached out to grab the handle as he stepped onto the school bus. This was the moment his first preschool days were finally beginning!

The sounds of a school bus honking was heard as the hissing sounds of the bus coming to halt was heard as it panned down to outside of the Woodbury Preschool Academy where a three year old Tommy hopped off the last step of the bus observing the school in awe. Next shot was of Tommy making his way down the hallway, waving to Chuckie and Kimi as they went in one room, before he turned to open the door to the classroom in front of him as many laughs, giggles, and screams of other kids could be heard. Inside many older versions of some familiar faces could be seen as Tommy looked around the room. Hector was seen scribbling on a paper with crayons, Bao-Yu (Builder) was already making a castle out of blocks, Dennis (Doughboy) was making a dog out of clay, Morgan and Winston (Wiseguy) were bouncing a ball amongst themselves that was until Teddy McNulty snatched the ball from between them as he ran off causing them to gasp as Morgan began sobbing. Transitioning as Teddy ran close up to the screen with the ball it then pans out from the yellow to show the sun as it shows all the preschoolers outside playing together with more older versions of familiar faces being seen. Tommy, Kimi, Gabriel, and Justin were playing on the merry go round as the screen spins to show First, Chuckie and Emma on the swings together, Then, Megan, Belinda, and Prudence hanging from the jungle gym laughing happily, Moving to Phil and Lil playing in the mud as usual. Then finally over to Wiseguy, Doughboy, Builder, and Morgan were all seen playing on the equipment while Hector was in the sand box below as Teddy rode by on one of the shared tricycles. Next shot was back inside as Tommy along with Phil and Lil were using finger paints, both Phil and Lil already covered head to toe in red paint as they laughed and giggled tossing the paint back and forth amongst each other. Ducking his head, Tommy avoided the paint being thrown as he gasped falling forward on the table causing the paint to spill and splatter onto the screen. As the paint slid down the screen to reveal a mini Rugrats logo and "The Preschool Years" below it in bubble letters similar to the original "Rugrats: Preschool Daze" logo.
