"I am young and defenceless; how can you think I am capable of murder? Of course, I did take away the emperor's seal, but what does that count for?"

The chancellor, with a stern look in his eyes, remained resolute and determined. He was not prepared to back down anytime soon. He meticulously considered every possible angle, every means at his disposal, to bring about a decisive end to the situation with the little boy standing before him.

"It might be the case that you are not capable of murder, and indeed you have not committed the heinous act against the emperor. However, we, the higher-ups, cannot simply overlook this matter, as it concerns the well-being and security of the true emperor. Therefore, young one, I have set aside my pride and come before you to humbly ask about the whereabouts of the emperor. Only you hold the key to this mystery," the chancellor spoke with a mix of authority and concern.

The others in the room nodded in agreement, acknowledging the gravity of the situation and the importance of finding the missing emperor for the stability of the kingdom.

"Very well," the boy said with a casual shrug, a hint of mischief playing in his eyes. "I will recount to you the events that transpired with that man."

As he began his tale, the room fell silent, hanging on his every word. "When I retrieved the seal from the man, I removed his garment, which I then donned as I made my way into the palace. I harbour no ill intent towards him initially, but stories of his excesses and indulgences sparked a mischievous idea in my mind. I decided to play a harmless prank on him," he confessed, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he recounted the events.

Continuing his narrative, he explained, "I took his clothing for myself, leaving him exposed and vulnerable. I went a step further, stripping him of his undergarments until his modesty was laid bare. Subsequently, I bound him and sent him off behind a wagon headed towards an unknown destination outside of Rin. All of this was done under the cover of night while he lay unconscious. As for his current whereabouts, even I cannot say," he concluded, a nonchalant shrug punctuating his words as he let out a light chuckle.

The room was filled with a mix of shock, intrigue, and amusement at the audacity and cunning displayed by the young emperor. The chancellor, though taken aback by the boy's actions, couldn't help but admire the cleverness and resourcefulness exhibited. It was clear that this young ruler possessed a sharp mind and a knack for playing the game of power and intrigue.

There were some in the hall who were laughing silently, and some had tears welling in their eyes as they tried hard to resist the laughter that wanted to erupt from their mouths. It was so ruthless, what he said he had done to the emperor.

The majority vouched in their hearts that what the little child who was seated before them had done to the emperor was worth it, and if he had done more, it was not wrong.

Regardless of how funny the deed was, the chancellor did not find it funny. His mind was occupied with different schemes, and his eyes did not shift away from the beautiful seat that glimmered back at him. His determination was already set in his heart that today, this opportunity laid before him would never be missed.

"Isn't that audacious?" He asked, his voice carrying an echo that vibrated to the little emperor's ears.

The little emperor gave a reply saying, "it doesn't matter what I have done. To me, what I have done was only done to an ordinary man, not an emperor because before I pulled my moves on him, I already took the seal away from him."

The dignitaries silently appraised in their hearts to how diligent the child's actions were, and his choice of words was laced with hints of maturity. His composure and everything about him were admirable.

They sighed and thought in their minds that only the chancellor could converse for so long with the child, and if it were them, they might have thrown in the towel.

"This is absurd!" The chancellor chuckled silently, seeing how long he had dragged this matter out, and when he could just stride over and pull the kid away from the throne and inflict upon him the greatest pain of his life.

His steps that were taken slowly before turned into a pace, desiring no more words with the kid. Now that he knew what had happened to the emperor, he felt reassured that no matter what he does today would not be his downfall but his elevation.

Very quickly the news of what was happening had spread throughout the palace, disseminating at a faster rate that was hard to control and in a certain residence inside the palace, there sat a woman of elegant status matched with a godly beauty that a man's heart can hardly endure. She was like a rare piece with a well aligned body.

Her crossed legs were revealed under the garment and one could not help but notice the whiteness of her skin.

If she was going out to the open areas, she was always veiled to avoid the numerous gazes that would not stop admiring her. But in her residence, she was unveiled, although her residence was a vast area which has various erections that spawned to a mile with servants and followers occupying each section, they were her people and all of them were females. So she does not need to be veiled whenever she takes a stride inside the residence.

She was sitting at the balcony of her building, the fragrance of a brewed tea lingered in the air and the brilliance of her crafted fingers draped around the handle of the cup. Holding it to her mouth, she sipped from it gracefully and slowly and returned it back to the table in front of her.
She was just gazing into the horizon when another lady stride in with an imposing urgency, and her breath escaping from her lungs which made it obvious she had hurriedly arrived.

Although the elegance of this lady can not be compared to the one seated, she was still gorgeous herself.

"Liling!" The lady called, citing the beauty that was alone all by herself. She did a slight bow in her presence and hurriedly sat beside her.

"Have you heard?" She asked.

Liling was the lady that was sitting alone by herself beforehand, she looked at the lady that just arrived, glad to see her.

"Jiao, what do you mean?" She asked and sipped a little from her cup once again.

Jiao explained. "In the palace hall where the dignitaries had met, there was a sudden appearance of a child holding the emperor's seal and said himself to be the emperor." she briefed.

Liling thought she had heard wrong and the cup she was about to bring to her lips halted half way. She looked at Jiao and could tell from her seriousness that what she said should be true. "Is that really true?" she wanted to reaffirm.

"Yes!" Jiao replied. "Our ears in the palace had confirmed it and of course it is already known by the majority."

Liling heaved heavily and asked again, "what of my hus…band?" She asked reluctantly.

"I do not know if it is true but there seems to be a story behind it involving him. I can only guess it to be true with the sudden arrival of that kid who has come bearing the seal." Jiao replied and brought her mouth swiftly to Liling's ear and whispered.

The relationship between these two ladies was one that is complicated as no one could tell Jiao was just her serving girl. But they were so close that Jiao could regard her casually, only on former occasions, does she use 'miss' to address her.

A melodious laughter suddenly filled the air, it was Liling's. She was laughing.

"Come-on!" Jiao berated her with a light nudge to her arms. "You shouldn't laugh like that. That man is your husband." She pointed out and yet she could not exempt herself from laughing.

What Jiao had whispered to her ears was the story she had heard, of that which had happened to the emperor; who was Liling's husband.
Obviously, Liling was not bothered about it in the slightest or else she would not be laughing so gracefully. After a while, her laughter resided and she stated amidst her amusement with a smile twitching on her lips, "the palace is getting interesting."
