Case File Name:
Her Reaction.♠Chapter Thirty-Two♠
"Yes, those are perfect," I told the woman, reaching in my purse to grab the specific ribbon, "Can you tie this in a bow around them?" I asked her.
And almost immediately, the employee of the florist shop nodded—respectfully taking the ribbon from my extended hand to tie around the white roses.
Never in my life did I ever think I of all people would be buying flowers.
Much less buying them for someone else.
The idea makes me want to cringe.
But I couldn't make it to lunch today with Tazmin due to an unexpected meeting with our current high-profile client.
Tazmin told me it was all good, but I oddly felt bad.
And feeling bad made me feel worse.
I hate the person I'm slowly turning into.
Like I don't even recognize who I am anymore.
"Thank you," I told the woman, admiring the black Chanel bow tied around the bouquet.
It's not the exact same boxed bouquet that she had gotten me—and not nearly as many flowers.
Thankfully.
But Tazmin will get the reference.
"Have a good night," the woman sent me a curt smile as I slid my card back into my wallet.
I nodded once, "You as well," I said, turning on my heel and exiting the florist shop with the bouquet.
And at this point, it was a little past nine-thirty.
But with a new case—and a new high-profile client, I'm going to be putting in a lot of overtime.
Especially since this case is going to trial.
Unlike Tazmin's.
I let out a content sigh as I settled in the driver's seat of the Range Rover—weirdly smiling to myself as I buckled my seatbelt and started the car.
A car that only made me think of Tazmin.
And ugh why does the thought of her make me want to...
Jump up and down—or maybe lay on my stomach and kick my feet with an annoying grin?
It's like such a warm feeling, and it feels good.
But the core part of me hates it.
I think I as a whole hate it.
But the thing beating in my chest seems to be clouding my judgment.
I wish I could live without it sometimes...
An annoyed groan vibrated in my throat, pulling up through the gates to Tazmin's house after a short ride from the florist—
But only to notice Mav and Vic's cars.

Romance"If you wanted me to fuck you, all you had to do was ask," Tazmin said, her raspy voice lowered as she drew one of her hands up the inside of my thigh. I clenched my jaw, "I didn't," I gritted, even if we both knew it was a full-faced lie. Especiall...
