I will be switching between first person and third.
Those 2 words were all I needed.
I was dressed and out the door in 4 minutes practically running to find Liam. I couldn't bear the thought of what had happened to Liam.
How much had I hurt him?
I was so lost in my head, that I hadn't noticed I had taken a wrong turn. 'Smack' I walked straight into someone's chest. I would have fallen over if it wasn't for 2 arms that shot out and wrapped around my waist. An apology already on my tongue, I looked up to see who I had crashed into. The words died as I stared into Ace's green eyes. 'fuck why is he so tall' I wouldn't call myself short but I found myself craning my neck to look up at him. My traitorous eyes roamed his face, over his chiseled jaw, messy hair, and stunning emerald green eyes. 'Such a shame someone so hot has to be a dick.' I snapped out of my trance to find Ace smirking down at me.
"Let. Go. Of. Me" I spit through gritted teeth.
"I can't have people thinking you were already falling for me," Ace smirks, one of his hands moved up to my face and tucked a strand of white hair behind my ears. He leaned forward and whispered, "Not when the fun hasn't even started." He was so close, too close, yet I didn't find myself pushing him away. The relic on my arm starts burning under my leathers causing me to wince. Ace's smirk drops and he stares at me with confusion.
"What-" Before he could finish Ridocs voice cut him off.
"Iris, you dumb shit, you ran the wrong-ohh" He stops in his tracks and stares at us. I suddenly realized how close Ace and I were. One of his hands was still wrapped around my waist while the other was still on my cheek. Both my hands were against his chest. My face went pink with embarrassment at what Ridoc thought we were doing.
"Am I interrupting something," Ridoc says, a smirk plastered on his lips. I swear I felt Ace's grip on my waist tighten.
"No, you're not. I was just leaving."
Ace faces me again, "Were you know, I was starting to think you liked being this close to me."
I roll my eyes and step out of his grip, my body aches for his touch again, but I ignore it as I walk to Ridoc, his smirk only growing bigger.
"Who knew you and the wing leader were so close." I smack his shoulder and walk past him.
"I'm just saying. Next time, I would do it somewhere... More private."
"We weren't doing anything and there definitely won't be a next time." I grumble "Now can we please go to Liam."
The walk was silent and awkward and I could tell Ridoc was trying really hard not to ask questions.
"Nothing happened, I just walked into him and he caught me before I fell over."
"Sure"
"Now, I do wish Rhiannon was here."
"Hey-"
"Oh look at that, we're here," I say, not allowing him to argue as I walk through the door.
All thoughts were abandoned at the sight of her friend. Iris inhaled a shaky breath as she stared at the blonde boy sleeping. He looked so peaceful, so calm. Her steps were unsteady as she walked towards Liam, fighting the tears that threatened to leave her eyes. She couldn't stop the sting of guilt she felt.
Liam was here because of her, Liam was hurt, hurt because of her.
Iris's legs threatened to give out with every step, but she needed to see him. She needed to. She slowly sat on the chair next to his bed, never taking her eyes off the peaceful blonde. His face left no sign of the beating he had taken.
Liam's eyes slowly opened and his voice alone pushed her over the edge. "I-Iris?" The sting of tears left her eyes as she listened to her friend.
"Liam" She wiped her face, refusing to let her friend see her like this. " I-I" Liam stared at her as she failed to find the words she had been trying to say. "I'm so sorry Liam, I'm so so sorry. I never meant to hurt you." She started, staring at her hands in her lap. " I get it if you hate me, and never want to talk to me again. I'm" She stared at Liam's hand that had interlocked with hers. She looked up, and the look on Liam's face was all it took for her to lose it.
All the tears he had been fighting escaped her eyes as she apologized through her sobs. She probably looked horrible but Liam didn't seem to care. He looked at her with sorrow on his face, like she was the one who had been beaten. "Liam, say something, please. I tried to come here, but I couldn't bear the thought of seeing you hurt. I'm sorry."
"Hey, hey. Look at me." Iris did as Liam told her and stared at him. Tears still running down her cheeks. She watched her friend and he lifted his hand a wiped away a tear from her face. " it's okay. I'm okay. We're okay."
Tears ran down her eyes as she stared into Liam's blue eyes. He wrapped his arms around her waist and held her against him as she cried. "I'm sorry." She said over and over again. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." They stayed in each other's arms for as long as they could.
"I'm sorry Liam. I am"
I didn't really know what to do in this part. Please tell me if there is anything I should change. Or any comments you have.
