"Are you excited for your very first day of school ever, Emma?"  My grandma asked.
"Yes Nama, I'm so excited!" 'Nama' is what we started calling my grandma, we never knew where it came from, but she loved it, and we've called her that ever since. "There's the bus! Have fun, I love you!" My grandma said. "I will, bye Nama. I love you sooooo much!"

I get onto the bus and sit down in the seat, smiling, waiting to get to school.

•Later after school•

"Namaaa!" I shouted. "Emma!" My grandma replied back, giving me a big hug. I'm the oldest child, meaning, I was the first to go to school, so she was super excited about how my first day went.

"So how was your first day of school Emma?"
"It was great Nama! We did soooo many fun things!" I say, with a huge smile on my face.

"That's great, I'm glad it was sooo fun! Are you hungry?" My grandma asked. "Yes! I'm super duper hungry!"

Later that night, I brushed my teeth, and went to bed, super excited for my 2nd day of school.

•Later in the year•

One day, I get off the bus to see a woman running toward me. I didn't know her, but she looked happy to see me, and she was in my yard. So I acted like I knew her, and gave her a big hug. "How was school Emma?" The woman asked. "Uh, it was good." I said hesitantly. "That's great! Come on, let's go inside." The woman led me inside with her. I walk in and see my brother standing right in front of the front door. The woman walks over to my grandma and starts talking to her. I put my backpack down and run over to my brother. "Dez, who is that girl?" I asked him. "That's mommy." He said. "oh."

Later that night, my mom came and gave me a hug and a kiss and gave my brother one to. "Goodnight Emma, I love you." She said. "Goodnight mommy. I love you to."  I said back. I didn't see her again for a little bit. But I never forgot about her. I always wondered why we never saw her.
