The day that Druig left was the day that we all also separated. Every one of us Eternals going our seperate ways. Yet Atlas couldn't bring herself to leave her dearest friend Makkari. Of course she couldn't because Makkari was the whole world to Atlas. Ever since they were sent to earth to fight side by side she was in love with her. Every moment spent was the best time of her life. Seeing that gorgeous smile grace her face made her day always. She didn't care about what the humans did with their life or the wars that went on, as long as she could be close with Makkari. So Atlas would go away every so often, but only to find something to show Makkari in hopes to impress her and light up her eyes when she saw it. The only thing that pained her at times is when Makkari would still mention her dearest friend Druig.
"I miss him, all of them but mostly him". She signed to me, tears welling up in her eyes. "Do not cry Makkari, you know I hate it when you cry, breaks my heart to see that precious face being sad". I signed to her, in hopes to cheer her up. A smile grew on her face as she pushed me lightly at the last comment. I smiled widely at that. I grabbed her face gently in my hands and wiped the tears from her eyes. "I will always be here for you My Makkari". I signed to her. I saw a tint of blush upon her face. "Are you hungry?". I sign to her. She nods her head. I morph a packet of twinkies in my hand, smiling widely at her and handing her the box. "Why do you love these so much?". I signed to her, fairly curious. "They're delicious". She replied. She hands me one and we sit there in silence while eating away at the box of twinkies. "Do you think Druig would like these?". Makkari asked. I hid the pain in my heart with a gentle smile. I shook my head. "He's too serious to eat a food like this". I tell her. She nodded her head agreeing.
Weeks went by and Me and Makkari spent moments and moments together and I couldn't be any more happier but the time came when I was due to go out to the world and travel to another country for an exhibition and I really needed to see her before I go.
I searched the whole Domo for Makkari but there was still no sign of her, making me very worried. I searched more frantically, starting to panic. I paused my movements when I saw her sitting down in the ancient library, the piles artefacts and books covering most of the place. I saw her wipe away a tear. I take a seat next to her and she turned away from me more. I reached my hand across, gently taking her chin into my fingers. With a delicate swipe of my thump I wiped the single tear away from her. "My Beautiful Makkari". I spoke, the familiar words that she was able to read from my lips. Her lips quivered and I pulled her chair closer to me so I could wrap my arms around her. Holding her tightly to me, not wanting to let her go. I pull back from her and caress her face gently in my hands. Waiting for her to stop her sobbing. I leaned my forehead against hers and she started to slowly take deep breaths. "What's is wrong My Makkari?". I signed to her. A sad look growing on my face, now not wanting to leave. "I hate it when you go". She signed to me. "I have gone many times before, what's the difference now?". I wondered. She shrugged her shoulders looking at me with that cute pout. "My beautiful Makkari, I do not have to go". I sign to her, she shook her head. "You must go". She says. "Well then you do not have to stay here". I signed to her. I saw her sobs stop suddenly and her light up a bit with hope. "What do you mean?". She asked. "Come with me My Makkari, let me show you the world". I sign to her. I saw her ponder about it for a bit as she looked around the library. She nodded her head and a big smile grew on my face. "Yeah?". I asked, to be sure. She nodded more confidently this time and I got to my feet, picking her up and holding her close to me as I swing her around in a circle. Once I put her feet on the ground, u told her to pack her bags quickly and meet me outside the domo, of course that wasn't long considering she has super speed.
It only felt like a minute before she was standing in front of me ready to leave.
"Ready to see the world my beautiful Makkari". I signed to her. She nodded excitedly and I took her hand as I teleported us to the airport. "Have you been on a plane?". I asked her. She shook her head replying. "I would usually just run everywhere". I chuckled and shook my head. "Why don't you just teleport to your exhibitions and all that?". She wonders. "Because I like the planes". I simply answer and she silently laughed which made me smile brightly.
