"Sect master, I am back from the task you gave me." Elder Liu's voice was heard outside the Sect master study.
"Come in," came a calm and composed voice from inside,
Hearing the words, Elder Liu opened the door and entered the room. Inside, he saw the Sect master sitting on 'his' usual desk, looking toward him.
"Speak what you have found," the Sect master said as soon as 'he' saw Elder Liu enter the room.
Hearing the serious tone the Sect master used to question him, Elder Liu became a little nervous but still started to talk,
"I investigated the village Kai Ren talked about, and indeed, it was destroyed." Elder Liu said, "After that, I started to look for the villager Kai Ren talked about, and when I found him, I probed his memories, and indeed, Kai Ren belonged to the village."
"Hmm, So did you investigate the cultivators that destroyed his village?" The sect master questioned after hearing Elder Liu's report.
"Yes, Sect master, that was what took most of the time, as there was little to no clue about their identity, but I still found a lead from the memories of the villager," Elder Liu continued while explaining the reason for taking too long in his investigation.
"In his memory, I saw that one of the cultivators was using a sword that had the seal of the great blacksmith, Master Emberforge," Elder Liu told the sect master about the clue he had found.
"So I decided to contact him, and when I showed him the design of the sword, he told me that he made it for the young master of the Feng family that is based in Solara, The capital city of Astrolan Kingdom." Elder Liu finally revealed the name of one of the culprits.
"The young master of the capital's Feng Family, huh, this is going to be troublesome. Anyway, who's the other one?" The sect master said this after hearing the identity of one of the culprits.
"After I found out about one of the culprits, finding the other was quite easy, as I had to just look into the recent battles of the young master Feng and I found out the other one," Elder Liu said after hearing the sect master question.
"It turns out that the other one was the young master of the Xu family, that is based in Eldoria, The capital city of the Valoria Kingdom." Elder Liu also revealed the name of the other culprit as well.
"The young master of the Xu family? Hmm, this situation has become even more troublesome than it already was."
"Both families are not something our Emerald Peak sect can casually provoke," the sect master said in a grim tone after hearing the identity of the other cultivator.
"Sect master, what are we going to do now? Will we take revenge for Kai Ren, or will we stand at the side?" Elder Liu asked when he saw the pondering look on the sect master's face.
"I don't know that yet, on one side, I don't want to get the emerald peak sect implicated in this, and on the other, I want to help my student take his revenge." The sect master replied with a helpless look on 'his' face.
"Sect master, it does not matter what decision you take. We will always support you no matter what," Elder Liu comforted the sect master.
"I know that Elder Liu, and this is the main reason I am hesitant, but let's just leave it till Kai Ren comes back from his training. Then I will discuss it with him and see what does he decides." The sect master replied to Elder Liu with a melancholic smile.
