Olivia pulls the tape over her head entering the crime scene. She looks around surveying the area before walking up to the bus where the paramedics are tending to the vic. She gives the girl a soft smile before introducing herself.
"Hi, I'm Captain Benson, you can call me Olivia. Can you tell me your name?" She looks at the girl, her face remaining warm and compassionate. The girl looks at her hesitantly, the light reflecting off the tears in her eyes.
"Katie. My name is Katie."
"Okay Katie, we're going to bring you to the hospital to make sure you're okay, is there anyone you want to call to be there?" She shakes her head. Olivia looks at her trying not to show the hesitance in her voice. "You don't want to call your parents?"
"No, no. They'll freak out, I wasn't suppose to go out tonight they'll just yell at me and tell me that this is my fau-" Olivia cuts her off before she can finish her sentence.
"Honey no, none of this is your fault. This is not your fault, okay? Nothing you did was an invitation for someone to hurt you. You didn't ask for this or deserve it. I know this is hard, but I need you to talk to me about what happened."
"I was out with some friends, we were going to a party. My parents said that I couldn't go but I told them I was just going to stay at a friends house and we went anyway. The party was boring and some other people were going to a haunted house thing and we thought it would be more fun than sitting at some lame party but when we got there, there was a ton of people and at some point we got separated."
"Okay, what happened after you got separated?"
"I called out to her but it was really dark and the lights were only on in flashes. Everyone was wearing masks and someone jumped out in front of me and I thought they were just trying to scare me, but they grabbed me and put something over my mouth and then when I woke up, I didn't know what had happened or where I was."
"Okay, is there anything else you remember? Do you remember feeling like maybe anyone was following you or your friend, did you get into a fight with anyone? Is there anything you remember or noticed about the person who grabbed you?" She shakes her head, pressing her palm into the side of her head.
"He was wearing a black sweatshirt. Or maybe it was dark blue, and he was wearing a mask. It was black, but it was like shiny black and he had black gloves on. I couldn't see his face. He was tall though, a lot taller than me."
"Do you remember what the mask looked like or just that it was black?"
"I just remember that it was black."
"Okay sweetie, that's enough. We're gonna get you checked out and then we can talk more, okay?" Olivia stands up as the girl reaches out for her hand lightly grabbing her wrist. Olivia turns around, her expression softening.
"I don't want to be alone."
"I'll be right back, I promise. I just need to tell my squad to meet me at the hospital so they know where I am." Her grip loosens as she drops Olivia's hand. Liv gives her a small smile trying to reassure her before she walks over to where Fin and Amanda are talking. "You to finish up here and meet me at the hospital with whatever you find, I'm gonna ride down with her and see if she remembers anything else after she gets checked out. Right now all we know is she was at a party with some friends and they ditched it for some kind of haunted house where she was grabbed in the dark by someone wearing dark clothes, a black mask and black gloves. She didn't get a view of his face or any other identifiable features. She said they covered her mouth and that was the last thing she remembered." Amanda sighs heavily, letting out a deep breath.
"So, we're looking for someone wearing a mask on Halloween? This should be easy." Fin shakes his head and Liv gives him a pointed look.
"Just clear the scene with CSU and then meet me at the hospital." Liv turns and walks away and Fin and Amanda both give each other a look before going back to where Katie was found.
