My alarm clock blared. BZZZ. BZZZ. BZZZ. It kept continuing until I was forced to get up and walk to my alarm, which was sadly across my room. I tapped the stop button, making everything besides my fan in the room go silent.
"Another boring day of school.." I yawned, stretching my arms above my head, before resting them.
I walked over to my closet, and got a navy blue hoodie out, setting it on my bed, before going over to my dresser and getting out a white cropped tank top with lace on the edges, and a pair of light colored baggy jeans.
I pulled off my shorts and shirt, putting on my clean clothing. I glanced over at the alarm clock, which read 5:42am. "Hmph.. so early."
I put on a pair of long white socks, and just some regular white sneakers.
I turned off the fan and opened my bedroom door, walking down the hall and going down the stairs. "Oh you're up early today." My mother looked back over her shoulder, at me. "Good mornin' Yvonne." She gave a soft smile. I chuckled, and smiled. "Mornin'." I walked and looked at what she was cooking, "Pancakes?" I asked, she nodded. "Mhm, could you go chop the berries for em'?" She asked, glancing over at me. I of course nodded and walked to the fridge, going to the bottom drawer and opening it, getting out the plastic containers of fresh strawberries and blueberries.
I walked over and set them on the countertop, washing my hands before taking a cutting board out and a small steak knife, starting to split the strawberries in half after rinsing them.
The strawberries left a slightly sticky red residue on the tips of my fingers and the knife. Soon I was done chopping them. "Ma', I'm done, anything else?" I asked, she nodded, placing the last pancake she cooked on a seperate plate. "Get out the syrup n' butter for me hun?"
"Aight' mama," I went to the fridge and got out the butter, closing the fridge door and going to the pantry, getting out the syrup, and placing it on the table where she had already set down three plates.
Someone walked down the stairs, "I smell pancakes..," I deep voice said, yawning and clearing his throat. "Mhm," My mama rinsed her hand and patted her hands dry on a paper towel and threw it away, before walking over to her husband and pecking him on the cheek. "Eat up, remember you have that interview in a few hours." She smiled, he nodded. "I know, I know." He chuckled, kissing her back on the lips. "Ayyy don't get so lovey-dovey in front of me," I pouted, Pa' and Ma' only smirked. "If we didn't how would y-" Pa' was about to say but I cut him off, "I know, I knowwww!!" I shook my head, 'Yuck' I thought in my mind. Mama only chuckled, "You'll understand one day~ now eat up, you don't wanna be late for school, hm?"
I nodded, and sat down at the table. I took a butter knife and opened the butter container, before scraping some butter on my knife and putting it on the pancakes. I picked up the syrup and poured it all over my pancakes, drenching it in the sugary goodness.
I started cutting my pancakes into pieces and put some of the strawberries I cut earlier and some blueberries on the pancakes, and started eating. I was careful to not get anything on my hoodie, because I didn't want to have to change like I usually do every time I eat pancakes with syrup.
I soon finished eating my pancakes. I wiped my mouth with a wet paper towel and threw it away, and wiped my mouth with my sleeve. I ran upstairs and brushed my brown hair out, making sure I looked alright.
I walked into my room and put my laptop and phone into my backpack, as well as my chargers and homework. I put my backpack on and ran downstairs, "Bye Ma' and Pa'! See you after school, and don't forget to tell Jackie I said hi." I smiled softly. Jackie was a nickname for my little brother. He's probably sleeping right now, if not he's gaming on his nintendo, procrastinating so he doesn't have to get ready for his school soon.
I walked out of the house, putting my airpods in and listening to some music. I don't usually take the bus, everyone's so annoying and loud. Like can't they see some people ACTUALLY want peace and quiet time, before they have to walk into a smelly building. AND sit in a classroom for an hour or more, listening to some teacher giving a whole damn lecture!?
It'll take around 30 minutes to walk to school, but hey at least i'll burn off those calories I consumed while eating those pancakes. I stop, looking left and right making sure no cars are coming before crossing the street and continuing walking on the sidewalk. I pass a few people jogging, taking their dogs for walks, and some simply just looking at nature.
"HEY YVONNE!!" A girl jumps and pulls my backpack, jerking me back. "Lillian?" I ask, before looking back. I huff, "You startled me!!" I pout, shaking her shoulders. She snickers, "That's what you get for leaving school so early yesterday," She crosses her arms, I roll my eyes playfully. "Yeah yeahh," I smirk. We start walking together to school, talking about school, things we've done and/ or watched, and what video games we've been playing.
Soon we get to the school gates, and there's a bunch of people in the courtyard and school steps talking and laughing. "How can these people be so energetic?" I sigh, Lillian snickers. "I dunno honestly, maybe they've had millions of cups of coffee?" She shrugs, "Maybe." I grin.
We walk to first class together, and sit in the back near the window like we usually do. I pull out my homework and we secretly give each other the answers before our math teacher walks in, I mean like we're technically helping one another so not cheating one bit so..
