Stelle's POV:

I can't just sit here and wait for my father to dictate my fate. I need to escape. I need to get out of here, no matter what it takes.

I scan my room, my eyes searching for anything that could aid my escape. The window is locked, but I could try to pick the lock. Or maybe I could find something to break it.

I spot a hairpin on my dresser and grab it, my heart racing with excitement. This could work.

I kneel down and begin to work on the lock, my hands shaking with nervousness. It takes a few minutes, but finally, the lock clicks open.

I push the window open and hoist myself up, my legs trembling as I balance on the sill. I take a deep breath and jump, landing awkwardly on the grass below.

I run as fast as I can, my feet pounding the pavement. I don't know where I'm going, I just know I need to get away.

The beach. I see the beach up ahead and make a beeline for it. I don't stop until I reach the sand, my lungs burning.

I look around frantically, my eyes scanning the beach for a place to hide. That's when I see it - a car parked nearby, the trunk open.

Without hesitation, I sprint towards the car and dive into the trunk. I pull the lid closed behind me, my heart racing.

I'm safe. For now.

As I catch my breath, I realize I have no idea whose car this is. But I don't care. I'm just grateful to be hidden.

I'll wait here until it's safe to come out. Until my father's men stop looking for me.

Until I can figure out what to do next.
