Life couldn't be more confusing.

Jimin had decided to visit his parents and got roped into helping his mother prepare lemon squares and red velvet cupcakes for her book club.

As he stared at the red cake batter, his mind wandered. He hadn't talked to Jungkook for three weeks. He hadn't seen him either. He was curious to know if Jungkook was just respecting him and his choice to think about everything, or if he was fed up and gave up on everything regarding Jimin.

He had only heard about the man from articles, news outlets, and his husband.

Anytime Jungkook's name entered his ears from Namjoon's lips, it felt like he knew. But he didn't know. Jimin knew he didn't know because Namjoon spoke of Jungkook in such high regard.

He didn't know what to do. He did really enjoy Jungkook's presence. Spending time with the younger man reminded him of the days he and Namjoon had first started dating. It helped that their first time together was... nice. He couldn't help thinking of Jungkook's hands on him, how Jungkook held, kissed, and looked at him.

The moment Jimin decided to leave was burned into his mind. Jungkook held his waist and stared deeply into his eyes. He sighed as his hands came up to hold his face and he leaned in to kiss Jimin. He kissed him slowly as if he was trying to convince him to stay.

It was all so horribly confusing.

"Hey," Moon, Jimin's mother, smacked his butt. "Why are you zoning out, Hun?"

Jimin turned to her with a small smile. "Mama, can I ask you something?"

"Of course!" She smiled as she continued mixing her icing for the cupcakes.

"How did..." Jimin sighed as he looked back down at the red batter. "How did you know Dad was the one for you?"

Moon hummed as she sat the icing aside and turned to her son.

"I'm not sure if I'm being honest. I just felt it, you know? I knew he wouldn't embarrass me, he swore he'd always protect me, and he looked out for all of my needs while also still taking care of himself. He wasn't some egotistical asshole but he also wasn't a lapdog. He was just my Jinsoo. Still is."

Jimin hummed with a smile. "You just knew?"

"Mhm! But why do you ask? Issues with Namjoon? Just say the word and I'll send your father—"

"No," Jimin chuckled as he shook his head. "Nothing with Namjoon. Well, I guess there are some issues with Namjoon. I don't know. I just haven't been sure of myself recently."

Moon frowned. "What's going on, Hun?"

Jimin sighed as he rubbed a hand down his face. He couldn't tell his mom he fucked Jungkook and he's thinking of where to take his religion with the man now. What would she think? How disappointed would she be?

"Mama."

"Mhm?"

"I... I got into a disagreement with a friend—"

"Taehyung?"

"No."

"Oh. Okay, continue."

"But anyway, we haven't talked in weeks and I'm getting worried. I don't know what to do."

"Well, what was the disagreement?"

"Taxes," Jimin winced.

Moon looked at him with a look that read "Seriously?" but she shook her head with a laugh.

"Well, okay. I'd suggest you go talk with them and work it out. If you genuinely want to keep the friendship and you enjoy being friends with them, work it out," she bumped his hip with her own and smiled.
