Author's POV
It had been six months.
Everything seemed to be going well—or so they thought. But things were spiraling out of control for Ravi and Mahi. The more Ravi tried to impress him, the more Mahi distanced himself.
One day, while Mahi was in an important meeting, Jaddu repeatedly called him, which made Mahi furious. When he finally returned home, he immediately looked for Jaddu.
He spotted Shivam at the dining table and asked, "Where is Ravindra?"
"Oh, Bhabhi is in your room, Bhai. He wasn’t feeling well, so I came home early to take him to the hospital. Now he’s resting."
Mahi scoffed, "What did he even do to get sick?" Then, he made his way to their room, finding Ravindra lying on their bed.
Mahi's POV
He looks weak. Maybe he’s faking it.
"Ravindra," he called out in his usual cold voice.
"Haan?"
"Why did you call me so many times? Do you have any sense? When I rejected your call once, you should have understood!"
"No, Mahindra ji… I wasn’t feeling well, so I thought you could take me to the hospital," Jaddu replied weakly.
Mahi scoffed, "Are you a child, Ravindra? You’re really acting like one. Always smiling, always helping… You don’t need to pack our lunches and do chores. We have maids for that."
"Nahi… I just thought… you would take me because I'm your husband…"
Mahi glared at him. "Ravindra, stop trying to become my wife!"
"Mahi ji, vo—"
"It's Mahindra for you!" he snapped.
"Nahi, vo—"
"You will never be good enough to be with me, Ravi. Our marriage is just for the convenience of my company. You will never be someone I love. You are not worth my time or my love."
He turned and walked into the bathroom, leaving Ravindra standing there, heartbroken. Despite all his efforts, even his own husband had proven that he wasn’t worthy of love. What had he done wrong? Was taking care of his husband such a crime?
No matter what he did, Mahi would never love him.
Silently, Ravindra left Mahi’s room—their room—and went to sleep in a guest bedroom.
When Mahi returned, he found the bed empty. Wondering where Jaddu had gone, he sat and waited. But Jaddu never returned. Maybe he had been a bit too harsh. He wanted to apologize, but his pride wouldn’t let him.
That night, the bed felt colder, lacking the warmth he had unknowingly grown used to.

The Next Morning
Mahi woke up to the aroma of coffee. He sat up, looking around, but no one was there. Instead, a note was left beside the cup.
Mahindra ji, freshen up and come down for breakfast.
Mahi took a sip and frowned. Wasn’t he sick?
After freshening up, he went downstairs, where his brothers were already seated at the dining table.
He took his seat as the maid served him breakfast. Usually, it was Jaddu who did it. So, what had changed?
The events of the previous night flashed in his mind, but he brushed them off and ate his breakfast.
