I thought it might seem confusing to begin a story set in France, but it does tie in with my Wolf Whisperer series. This is a spin-off series that takes place before The Cry of the Wolf - when Storm and Lanecea time-travelled to France where it all began. This is the first book in a time-travel saga that will follow the story of Pierre Lalemant. His descendants will play a pivotal role in New France. In my "The Wolf Whisperer" series, Storm is often swallowed up by the wilderness and Lanecea truly misses him. In this series, he is with her more as it takes place in France - these are the days Lanecea longs for - when they were side by side taking on the world.
This series gives some back story plus will pave the way for a deeper knowledge of the Jesuit's side of the story and the secrets that Lanecea is aware of in The Wolf Whisperer series - secrets she alludes to and the reason why she is so afraid of the men in black robes.
