Author's POV
When Virat received the call informing him that his brothers were in the hospital, he couldn't stop crying. Without a second thought, they rushed out, leaving Rahul and Mahi behind at home.
At the Hospital
Upon arrival, the doctor approached them with a grave expression.
"Mr. Kohli, I assume Mr. Jadeja is your elder brother?" the doctor inquired.
"Yes, doctor," Virat responded, his voice trembling.
"Mr. Kohli, Hardik's condition is stable, but he needs a lot of rest. However, your elder brother..."
"What happened to him?" Virat asked, his anxiety growing.
"He was riding in the rain when his bike slipped. His entire knee was severely scraped, and he suffered a serious head injury. He lost a lot of blood. His chances of survival are only 30%." The doctor's words struck like a thunderbolt before he walked away, leaving them in silence.
Virat collapsed onto the floor, wailing uncontrollably. Rohit knelt beside him, trying to console him, but Virat couldn't be calmed. The pain was too overwhelming.
They immediately called Ruturaj, Rishabh, and Ishan.
"Bhai, how are they?" Ishan asked, his voice thick with worry.
Ruturaj turned to look at the ICU, where Jadeja was fighting for his life. He sat down on a nearby bench, tears silently streaming down his face.
Shivam sat beside him and whispered, "Rutu, bhabhi is a fighter. He's the strongest person I know. I love him as much as you do, but please don't cry. It hurts to see you like this. He's always been like a mother to us. He will be fine."
Ruturaj turned to Shivam and hugged him tightly.
Shreyas, witnessing this, did the same with Rishabh, who clung to him in silent despair.
Meanwhile, Ishan sat beside Virat, trying his best to console him.
Just then, Rohit’s phone rang. It was Mahi.
"Come to the hospital," Rohit informed him without hesitation.
Within minutes, Mahi and Rahul arrived.
The doctor emerged from the ICU, and Mahi was the first to ask, "How is he?"
The doctor sighed. "He has three hours to wake up. If he doesn't regain consciousness by 4 PM, he will slip into a coma. And if that happens, we have no hope. Just pray that he wakes up in time."
The time was 2 PM. The countdown had begun.
Virat stopped crying and stared at the ICU door, silently begging his brother to wake up.
Mahi sat beside him. "Vi, I know how much you’re going through. But bhabhi is strong. He will survive."
Virat shook his head, tears slipping down his face. "I know. But why does this always happen to him? Why can't he just be happy? First, our father tortured him, and now this..."
Mahi frowned. "What do you mean by your father?"
Virat took a deep breath. "We are six brothers, but that man always treated Jaddu bhai differently. While we played, he studied. While we slept, he worked. And when bhai refused, that monster locked him in the basement for three days. No food. No water. And yet, he never stopped loving him. Even our mother wasn't allowed to show him affection. When she passed away, bhai wasn’t even allowed to cry. He wanted to be a cricketer, but our father crushed that dream. And still... he never left us. He raised us like a mother."
