I was only sixteen when I met him.

I was going to school, just finished practicing archery for the the upcoming interschool archery championship. I know that I'm going to win, I always win. Being an Omega didn't stop me and also, archery is meant for Omegas. It requires refined skills and focus. The sport is more than just hitting the target.

Going home late was never new to me and I made a routine of stopping by a convince store to buy a matcha-flavored ice cream. That's the good stuff.

Watching the sky turn to different colors as the sun started to set was my favorite when I go home late but as I walked down the familiar street, I felt my heart drop. The heaviness was something I cannot describe even today as a working adult.

I don't know what came over me that day, I threw away my favorite matcha ice cream in the nearest bin and followed my legs as it brought me to the other side of the neighborhood and to a house with people wearing black entering the building.

I held my breath that day, not knowing what was going on but trusted my instincts. I walked to the house until I was facing it and there next to the open gate was a picture of a boy with blonde hair, soft blue eyes and he wore a gentle smile.

My world crumbled to the ground, leaving me to fall into an endless pit of darkness.

I don't know the boy personally but his name was under the picture.

Farlan Chruch.

My Alpha.

My destined mate is dead and what I walked in was his funeral.

I didn't cry that day, I just walked home and took the long route. The skies were no longer pretty, the macha ice cream left a bitter taste in my mouth and the upcoming tournament felt like a chore now.

Nonetheless, I compete. Won the tournament, attended my classes, and made my mother proud for graduating with honors and a scholarship to a prestigious university. I made friends, studied, and did normal things college kids do.

But it all was nothing but a blur. I made friends but none lasted long enough to deal with my detached attitude. Well, except for Hange Zoe because for some reason, she knew something was wrong because she was taking psychology at that time.

I graduated, but my mother wasn't able to see me walk the stage to get my diploma because her illness took her too early.

I got a job and I'm good at it.

And that's it. That's all my story. I, Levi Ackerman am nothing but an empty shell and now a corporate slave.

“Petra! Petra! Are you okay?! Oh no! You're in heat!”

I lifted my head to the sound of people panicking outside my office. Someone's in heat and that's not good. In a world where Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamic exists, Omegas like me go through a phase called heat, it's trait that was passed down from our wolven ancestors to ensure the population of the clan. Heats can be painful but coupling with an Alpha can relieve the pain, though, in the modern world, we have suppressants, a drug that can prevent heats but some Omegas were immune to it depending of how long they have took the drug.

In this age where clan survival is no longer a problem, people focused on finding their soulmates, their other half that was written by the stars and guided by the moon.

“Medic! Someone get the medic!”

“Alphas! Out of the floor now!”

I let them be, knowing that the floor manager is capable of settling things outside my office. Alphas, they were the ones that affected by an Omega's heat the most, they become illogical and forced themselves in Omegas. They also experienced a similar phase, it's rut. They'll seek someone to mate and just like heats, they are have suppressants. Right now, ruts and heats felt like a hindrance, thus prescribed drugs were created.
