When I Met You

Chapter 2

The following day was no longer a blur. It was colorful. It was our floor manager's birthday, everyone decided to decorate the office after asking for my permission. I allow them as long as they help Eren clean up the mess after.

Everyone was excited and waited for the manager to arrive from the elevator to surprise him. I almost forgot his name, Erwin Smith was it. He was supposed to be in my position but he declined the offer and reasoned that he wanted to spend more time with his mate and family.I left my office and watched everyone surprise Erwin with party poppers and a loud "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

Smith was so happy as well as everyone. They prepared food and cake. Everyone is smiling, laughing, and having fun.

I walked towards the birthday guy and I greeted him. I didn't know that it was his birthday, I didn't prepare anything but I didn't want to be a sore thumb in the group and hid in my office until the party ended. Erwin did help me a lot with our work. "Happy Birthday."

"Levi! I mean, Boss! Thank you so much!" He smiled, like a prince in a storybook.

"Hmmm," I nodded, shifting my gaze on everyone. It's Friday again and the team worked hard for this week to finish the exclusive project that was assigned to us. They are all happy and the office is bright and colorful.

"Everyone," I announced, grabbing everyone's attention. "I would like to thank you all for the work you've done for this week and also since it's Mr. Smith birthday, I'll be ordering more food for everyone to take home later."

Everybody cheered. It was loud and.... happy.

"Also, everyone deserved some rest. We'll be working half day today so you can enjoy the weekend early but if you have any reports to submit, please turn it over before 1 PM. Rest assured that your remaining hours for the afternoon shift is paid. What do you think of this arrangement Mr. Smith.?"

"Please call me Erwin, Levi. We've been working for more than 5 years now but to answer your question, I agree with this arrangement. Everyone did excellent work with our recent project," Erwin gave everyone a round of applause.

The cheering became much louder. It was a mix of "Thank you, Boss!", "I'll submit my report now!", "You guys are the best bosses!", "I love this company!", "We will continue to do our best on the next one!"

Everyone is so happy.

I glanced at my side when I noticed a green-eyed Alpha looking at me. Eren, of course. He smiled at me. He looks good in his blue overalls. While everyone was buzzing with excitement and digging into the food, I walked towards the brunette Alpha.

"The announcement applies to you too Eren. I'll clean my office so you can help the others take down the decorations."

"Thank you, Boss. Oh! Would you like to visit the cafe again? We can bring outside food, I just need to let Historia know in advance."

"Hmmm," I gave it a thought. I don't have plans after lunch and I do crave their Earl Grey Tea. "Sure."

"Levi," He said slowly as if he was unsure to say my name at work. When I didn't protest at how he addressed me, he continued. "If you don't mind, can we take the bus to the cafe?"
