The sound of footsteps got closer behind him. He didn't know how long he could keep running, but he had to try. He had to escape.
As the boy raced through the darkened streets, his breaths ragged and his heart pounding, he heard the ominous sound of footsteps closing in behind him. Desperation gripped him as he darted around a corner, narrowly avoiding the grasping hands of his pursuers.
"Get back here, you little rat!" one of the men shouted, his voice harsh and menacing. "You can't hide from us!"
The boy's heart sank as he recognized the voice. It belonged to the leader of the group, a cruel man with a reputation for ruthlessness. He knew he had to keep running, had to find a way to escape their clutches.
But just as he was about to lose hope, he spotted a figure ahead—a silhouette illuminated by the faint glow of a streetlamp. With a surge of desperate hope, he raced toward it, his legs burning with exertion.
"Please," he gasped as he skidded to a stop in front of the figure, his chest heaving with exhaustion. "You have to help me. They're after me."
The figure, a young man with a kind face and gentle eyes, looked down at the boy with concern. "Who's after you? What happened?" he asked, his voice soft and reassuring.
"Don't worry," he said firmly, placing a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder. "I won't let them hurt you. Come with me—I know a place where you'll be safe."
With a sense of relief flooding through him, the boy nodded gratefully, knowing that he had found an unexpected ally in his darkest hour. And as they disappeared into the night together, he couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope for the first time in what felt like forever.
Almost 10 years later -
Taehyung and Jimin sat at a table littered with textbooks and half-eaten sandwiches. Taehyung frowned at his English textbook, flipping through the pages with a look of utter bewilderment.
"English is the worst," Taehyung groaned, pushing the textbook away with a dramatic sigh. "I swear, every time I try to speak it, I sound like a malfunctioning robot."
Jimin chuckled sympathetically, reaching across the table to pat Taehyung's shoulder. "Come on, Tae, it's not that bad. You just need to practice more."
Taehyung shot him a skeptical look. "Practice? Jimin, I've been practicing for years! I still can't wrap my head around all those confusing grammar rules and weird pronunciation."
Jimin grinned mischievously, leaning in closer. "Remember that time you tried to order a 'banana sofa' instead of a 'banana smoothie'?"
This playful phrase introduces a humorous image of a banana sofa, adding an unexpected twist to Taehyung's mispronunciation.Taehyung's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as he recalled the embarrassing incident.
"Hey, it's sound so similar!" he protested, earning a laugh from Jimin.
"Okay, okay " Jimin conceded, still chuckling. "But you have to admit, it was pretty hilarious."
Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I guess I'll just have to resign myself to a life of speaking 'Engrish'," he said with a resigned shrug. Jimin grinned, nudging Taehyung playfully. "Hey, if anyone can make Engrish sound cool, it's you, Tae." and laughed more hearing what Taehyung said.
"You really need classes Taebear" It was now Hoseok who was entering the caferteria . Maybe his class winded up early. "well I guess he really need one" Jimin chuckled as Hoseok sat beside him and took a bite from Jimin's half eater sandwich.
