Martinus' pov

I heard him come inside and of course without saying "I am home!". It still feels weird that we have become so distance.

Ever since our parents left us our relationship changed.

We were two pea's in the pod once, always saying "I can't imagine doing this without my brother" but now we're living like we are roomates. Sometimes we say hi to each other other times we don't say anything at all.

I sometimes feel lonely but I know I can't bother my brother since he's going through the same thing.

He decided to go out today because he wanted to clear his head but deep down I know he's in pain, his health hasn't been the best either but the doctor said he should be fine and that is just some minor sickness .

It has already been 30 minutes since he came in, I began to worry because usually he would go do stuff downstairs but today he was odly quiet.

I decided to go downstairs to check on him, he had collapsed on the sofa because he was to tired to go to his room.

Typical him like always.

- WAKE UP!

- WHAT?!

- Bro you fell asleep

- So? Since when did you care?

- Marcus we might just only say hi to each other but you're still my brother so of course I care!

- Whatever I'm going to bed.

And just like that my brother was "gone" again. Back then I hoped he would change for the better but he only changed for the worst.

A few days later...

Tomorrow is our birthday and I thought I would gift Marcus a Manchester united keychain and mug since he's a big fan.

I don't really care much about present as long as Marcus is happy I'm fine with that.

All of the sudden I received an phone call that would change my life forever.

It was the hospital they told me that Marcus has been hospitalized so I rushed there as quick as I can. My mind was racing, my heart was racing all I could think of is the worst case scenarios.

- Hello doctor, is my brother ok?!
- Follow me in here

The doctor lead me to his office where we both sat down on a couch. The look on his face didn't look so good.

- What's wrong with my brother doctor?

- I don't know if he had told you this before but I assume by your reaction he hasn't right.

- What do you mean? I'm confused.

- Your brother has cancer and is terminal, he has approximately 1 year or less

- No no no, no you're lying! My brother was fine for the past few days he's not sick!

- I'm very sorry and I know this must be a shock for you and if you have any questions later let me know but right now go see your brother first.

He showed me Marcus' room, I walked in he was laying there unconscious with an oxygen mask.

- Marcus why didn't you tell me you were sick! I could've at least help you! I said to him with tears running down my cheeks.

From that day onwards I promised myself to take care of him as much as possible even though he stubbornly refuses.

Our relationship slowly healed again, I would come visit him during his treatment everyday and take him home so I can take care of him. I was happy that we could bond again but I still see that sadness in his eyes sometimes like he's thinking of something he doesn't wanna share.

But not everything is always going to be perfect.

Like today Marcus felt so sick that he can't even come home because the doctors worries that if something happens to him when he's home he won't make it to the hospital in time.

I'm going to visit him to make sure he's well rested. Him being sick already worries me and this stubborn idiot always have to say "I'm fine!"

At the hospital...

- Marcus is your favorite brother!!
Marcus? What are you doing

- Oh nothing I'm just thinking about stuff

- Um ok? So what are you thinking about?

- I'm just thinking maybe I should buzz my hair off.

- You've been losing your hair?

- Yeah a lot of it

- I can help you if you want

- Sure thanks

- I'll go get an clipper from the one of the doctors they should have one, I'll be right back

One moment later

- I'm back!

- What took you so long

- Sorry I had to go back home to grab one since they didn't let me borrow.

- Ok let's go to the bathroom

Inside the bathroom

- Ok let's put this plastic bag on you and then take your hat off
Oh damn your hair is looking bad

- That's why I need to shave it off

- Ok I'm doing it

I turned the clippers on and slowly run it through his hair, once then twice the hair slowly fell to the floor into clumps as I buzz.

- Ok all done

- Oh wow I look...

- Aww bro don't cry, I said as I hugged him

- I just... my h-hair i-is gone, he said still crying

- I know but this is a sign that it's working, the chemo is killing the cancer and you'll have your hair back in no time.
- Thanks bro, I don't know what I'll do without you.

- Of course now help me clean this mess up.

After we cleaned up I helped Marcus back to his bed, he suddenly start shaking making doctors and nurses rush inside.

- W-what's happening t-to him?!

- He's having an seizure but you need to leave now

- NO! I need to be there for him!

- Nurse can you get this boy out

- Come young man, there's nothing you can do here

Marcus please be ok, I can't lose you too.

A few months later... (after Martinus drop Ella off her house)

I still can't believe she's was actually willing to
help me out, I know what I'm doing is so against wjat Marcus wants but deep down he knows he needs someone else beside me.

And the fact that they made an little bargain is kinda funny.

- Hello

- Why did you do that?

- Do what

- By telling her about me

- Ok listen cuz I can't take this anymore, Marcus Gunnarsen I know you dislike having friends or whatever but I can tell that you that you like hanging out with Ella so maybe just give a chance

- First of all I never said I enjoyed hanging out with her and two I did gave her a chance, she has one month to do the impossible
- Everything is impossible to you

- If you're just going to lecture me then the door is over there

- Yeah yeah, you will see how wrong you are.

Ella I'm putting all of my faith and hopes in you, please just make Marcus happy again because I give up.
