"Priya?"

"Priya!!!"

"Varen, iru", Priya answered with her eyes still on the Orthopedics notes she had borrowed from Dhivya. Dhivya's notes were much coveted by their entire class, since her notes were influenced by her father, a practicing Orthopedician.

Closing her notes, Priya stood up, "Thalavalikudhu, canteen polaamaa? I'd kill for a tea right about now?".

"I don't get how someone can consume tea when it's already hot", Dhivya, her friend in college replied.

Dhivya was also her friend from school, so naturally it felt right to stick with Dhivya during classes, even when they had grown apart. And luckily they had fallen in the same group during postings as well. Their gang of four from school still stayed in touch. Rathna had left the state to pursue architecture like she had always wanted to. Though off late, Rathna had been hinting at quitting architecture to pursue writing and literature. Rathna was also the only member of the gang to have grown completely apart from the other three.

Sivaangi and Priya were still best friends, if one could call two people who hadn't even met in the past two months that. But the best friends were busy with their life. Sivaangi had just graduated and started a new job. Priya had been busy with final year, also gearing up for their college's UG medical conference. Besides texting and talking to each other over the phone every single day, they hadn't even found time to meet in their paatu class. Priya had completely moved to attending online classes while Sivaangi still attended in person.

"Tea is bae", Priya muttered stuffing everything in her backpack.

Dhivya stayed focussed on the blue portfolio that listed the ongoing conference sessions in her hand.

"Evlo time iruku? Seriously, do we at least have time to get biscuit?", Priya checked her watch.

"Madam, we are already running late. Workshop ku pogala andha kaandaamirugam, naalu credit korachiduven nu meratiruku".

Their annual UG conference had multiple workshops run by each department from their teaching hospital and attendance to every workshop was typically optional. Students only registered for workshops that they were interested in. Much to the Anesthesia and Critical care department's constant dismay, not many students registered for their workshops. Precisely why their Anesthesia professor had said anyone who did not register for their department's workshop would not be receiving credits towards the postings. Besides a handful of students in their batch, Priya did not think anyone was interested to attend a Critical Care/ Anesthesia workshop. Priya was not even sure if she was interested in that specialization. Her group was yet to attend their Anesthesia posting for the year.

Sighing, Priya sulkily walked across the building along with an equally disinterested Dhivya to attend the workshop.

"Hey Dhivya, hi VP", one of their classmates and Dhivya's best friend Harish greeted them just outside the conference hall.

"Aen late?", Harish asked.

"Hip dislocation. PG student case present panrappo, attending veluthu vaangitu irundhaanga. We couldn't even leave and then Priya wanted to write notes. Enna aachu have they started?", Dhivya replied.
