Charlotte
The next morning, I wake up to the soft glow of sunlight streaming through the hotel room window. It's Monday, the race weekend behind us, and a quiet calm has settled over the city. I blink a few times, disoriented but quickly remembering the events of the previous night. Despite the drinks and the dancing, everything comes back to me clearly—especially the moments with Logan.
I sit up slowly, noticing Mick asleep in the chair next to the bed, his head resting against the back, his posture awkward but peaceful. He must have stayed with me all night to make sure I was alright.
I stretch, feeling a dull throb in my head but grateful for the presence of my friend. Gently, I slide out of bed and tiptoe to the bathroom. I splash my face with cold water, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep and the lingering effects of alcohol. As I look at myself in the mirror, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude. Despite the chaos of the night, I was surrounded by people who cared about me.
When I step back into the room, Mick stirs awake, rubbing his eyes. He glances around, momentarily disoriented, before his eyes land on me.
"Morning," he mumbles, a sleepy smile forming on his lips.
"Morning," I reply softly, walking over to him. "Thank you for staying with me."
"Of course," he says, stretching. "How are you feeling?"
"A bit hungover, but I'll survive," I chuckle, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
I grab my phone from the nightstand, remembering the group chat with the other girlfriends.

Hey ladies,
just wanted to say thanks for last night.
You all made it such a fun evening!
Also, I might need some advice about...
a certain someone.Lily
Does this person happen
to be one
Logan Sargeant?Charlotte
Uhhhhh...
Maybe.Carmen
Well I don't think you need
any advice.
You two definitely like each other.Charlotte
He definitely does not.
He was just trying to be nice.Lily
Char, trust us.
The way he looks at you,
it's more than just being nice.Carmen
Yeah, I saw him last night.
He was practically glued to you.Charlotte
I don't know...
I'm just scared to ruin our friendship
Especially because we just rekindled it.Lily
Understandable,
but sometimes the best relationships
start as friendships.Carmen
Exactly!
Just take it slow.
See where things go.
We're here for you, no matter what.Charlotte
Thanks, girls.
That helped me feel better.
I'll think about it. 💖Lily
Good luck, Char!
And keep us updated!Carmen
Yes, we need all the details! 😊I put my phone down, feeling a bit more reassured. Maybe the girls are right. Maybe there's something more between Logan and me. For now, I decide to take things one step at a time and see where it leads.
Logan
I woke up to the soft light filtering through the curtains of my hotel room, the events of last night replaying in my mind. Stretching, I felt the remnants of the alcohol and the emotional weight of the evening before. Charlotte's smile and laughter were vivid in my memory, making me feel both nostalgic and hopeful.
