Memories flash through your head like a movie as you fling open the front door. Each large tree lining the property beckoning you into them with a promise of safety but your too focused on the thought of the first time you ever saw them.
You'll try to convince yourself it's simply because it was a beautiful scene that it had nothing to do with him but it won't work.
Everything is about him. The dark in the sky, the promise of danger in the unknown. It's never sunshine and roses, it's chaos and havoc. It's a heady situation filled of adrenaline.
You were right, you're no better than him.
You could tell the world you purposely faltered your steps so you could save lives from being lost but it'd be a lie, knowing you only stumbled because you knew he wasn't far behind and he'd catch you.
He would burn the ground to ash if it damaged your perfect skin, he'd obliterate the trees if the limbs simply brushed perfect flesh. It's hard to run from something so obsessed with you, it's even harder to say you weren't obsessed too.
"I thought I told you to run." he grunted as his arm wrapped around your waist forcing your feet to stumble until your body faced him. He glanced to tree lining then back to you, not a single glimmer of sweat coated his brow, his breath barely heaved with exertion.
You swallows hard, not fighting when he guided you back to lean against a tree. The moon casted shadows along his face, creating a ethereal appeal to his features.
His fingers traced the expanse of your bare thigh revealed from the slit in the side of your dress. "You wouldn't have let me get far anyway." You breathed out, earning a soft chuckle he only showed you.
"You're right. I'm not losing you again even if that means I have to keep you trapped here forever." He murmured bringing his forehead down to rest against yours. You rolled your eyes, causing his hand to grip your thigh hard enough it made a yelp escape as he brought your knee to rest against his hip.
His hard body pressed against yours, if he could bury you in his skin he would but for now this would have to do. Just feeling your soft curves mold against his rigid ones.
"I'm not losing you again, my love." He whispered letting his words carry through the air until they wrapped around your chest like a strong embrace.
"You could've found me, but you didn't look." Your words made his chest ache, foreign emotions tried to make him feel human but that was impossible.. unless it came to you.
"I did look, but I needed you to see the lengths I'd go through, until I did find you." He paused shaking his head. "Or you found me."
It's hard to believe something so pure felt so good in his hands, each invisible print of blood stained your perfect skin from his hands. You always did look good in red. He never wished to corrupt you, only to posses you.
"I never claimed to be a good man, Моя любовь. The question is, can you actually accept that?" He nipped at your bottom lip making your back arch against the bark. Even if you couldn't accept it he'd teach you how too, because in the long run you were his.
He groaned feeling your hips roll against his erection. The taste of copper was quickly replaced by his tongue soothing the sting. Just like he wouldn't, he knew you wouldn't change either. He wanted the fight though, the constant raging battle you two created between right and wrong.
You were polar opposites but at the same time there had never been two people anymore similar. He wanted bloodshed and you wanted normalcy. You never specified what version of normal though...
