Three days pass. Just as LaRissa said, it was announced that a public execution of the Vollino Family's traitorous princess would take place at the square. While it was relatively unknown that the Vollino Family had a second princess, inhabitants gathered at the city center to watch. And just as LaRissa said, Sharp was in attendance as well. However, he didn't occupy the reserved seat she prepared for him. He was off to the side, inside a run down, vacant apartment building complex, making some adjustments to his gun. He had kept his silencer on, but also attached a scope to the side of the barrel, and a laser pointer on the top of it. Once he was ready, he aims it at a wall to test the laser. He looks down the scope, and nods. His preparations were complete. Now, to wait. "Just wait, Mabel... I'll protect you..." Sharp gives a quiet oath, and remains on standby.
While the preparations for the execution were underway, Fiora the pink haired Sylph flutters into LaRissa's room and bows. "Milady, I have a report." She says.
"Speak." LaRissa replies, sharpening her sword.
"It's the dungeon. When me and Sir Arefus went down there, it was deserted. Not a guard in sight. But when we got Princ— I mean...the prisoner, she was still in her cell. I hope you had just given the guards the day off..." Fiora reports.
LaRissa narrows her eyes suspiciously, as she turns around to face her servant. "I did not." She says.
"Then...what happened? Where did they all go?" Fiora wondered.
"Either way, it is unimportant." The moth girl says and stands up. "We can figure that out once Mabel is taken out of the picture. Is she being escorted to the city center?"
"Y-Yes ma'am." Fiora nods, and flies out to leave LaRissa behind until execution time.
Once she was gone, the minty moth girl sighs, and turns to a baby picture with her mother doing her hair. "Just wait, mother... The Vollino Family... This city that you loved so much... I swear I will protect them." She gives her personal oath for the second time today, and watches as Arefus brings Mabel to the wooden platform for the execution. Once she securely locked in the gallows, LaRissa walks out, as the people cheer and wave. She returns their affections, and greets them with a smile and wave of her own. Arefus goes on standby, standing off to the side of the platform.
Mabel, after being locked in place, begins to sweat. She looked nervously around the crowd, trying to find Sharp. She couldn't see him anywhere, and she was starting to wonder if he would come at all.
Noticing her eyes darting about, LaRissa couldn't help but giggle gleefully. "It seems your "friend" won't be coming." She says, mocking their companionship.
Hearing the venom in her voice, Mabel glares at her older sister. "That's not true...!" She says, trying to sounding confident.
"What makes you so sure, little sister?" She would ask, unsheathing her sword once again. She raises it up, showing off the weapon that will take the traitor's head in a few minutes time as the crowd cheered.
Despite the situation she was in, Mabel took a deep breath to calm herself down. Once she was calm, she looks up at LaRissa and smiles. "Because unlike you, I believe in my family. I believe in Sharpie." She says with pure confidence, catching LaRissa's attention.
Did Mabel, the most insecure girl she's ever known, really just say that with full confidence? That was the last straw. Not wanting to waste another second now, LaRissa turns around, and walks to the left of the gallows holding Mabel. She slowly positions her sword at her neck, getting her swing ready. Once she has a clear path, she raises her arms above her head. But just before she could move down for the kill, a red laser dot appears and aims right at the back of LaRissa's head. The people gasp, as Sharp takes the shot before the moth can react, his gun not making a sound.
