The Tales of Tideclan (book one)

Chapter one

Hillsplash walked into Scorpionstar's den, she saw he looked stressed and began to worry for her mate.

"Are you alright sweetheart? you seem stressed." She says naturally worrying for him. Scorpionstar looks over at Hillsplash the light from outside reflecting off of his amber eyes in the darkness of his den. "Have you seen how Ottersplash has been acting around Marigoldhaze recently... it's quite odd.." he says in a low voice.

Hillsplash settles beside her mate "Oh um...no I didn't notice sorry. What do you think is going on?"

Scorpionstar stayed silent for a moment then spoke his mind "have you ever thought of just letting the whole, Medicine cats can't have a mate rule go...?"

Hillsplash was taken aback by Scorpionstar's words "WHAT? NO!" She's surprised that he would say something like that.

"Wait, do you think Ottersplash and Marigoldhaze are in love or something?" Hillsplash questions.
Scorpionstar sighs "Yes.... yes I believe so, have you seen how they talk to each other and interact with each other?"

"they do act rather odd with each other sometimes... but our clan is the most quirky of them all so it's no new news you see what I'm saying? Just talk to starclan about it alright sweetheart everything is gonna be fine!" Hillsplash reassures her mate.

"I'll see what I can do..."

Fawnpaw was sitting by the lake waiting for a fish to swim by so she could catch it. She enjoyed hunting by herself, it was so peaceful.

She waited patiently for a fish to swim by, finally one swam by, Fawnpaw got a little to excited and the fish saw her coming and darted away. Fawnpaw sighs in frustration "there goes my catch..." she mumbles to herself and walks back to camp.

When she walks into camp she sees two other apprentices, Rasppaw and Sharkpaw waiting for her. Fawnpaw blinks in surprise and confusion "uh, hi guys.." she greets them awkwardly.

Rasppaw waves his tail "hey!" He smiles at her.
"Good job Fawnpaw!!" Sharkpaw cheers. Fawnpaw stares at the two toms "Good job for what exactly...?" She asks  "Good job for learning from your mistakes!" Sharkpaw smiled.
"Yeah good-" Rasppaw coughs "-job!" "Uh, yeah, thanks.." Fawnpaw gives them an awkward smile and jumps across the small river and heads over to the fresh-kill pile.

Sharkpaw follows her and rests his tail on her shoulder "you're so good at hunting!" He says. "Uh thanks..." She says as she slides out from under his tail and towards the prey pile

"if I can't catch anything at least I can eat what's already here..." She mutters to herself. Sharkpaw practically tripped over himself to grab Fawnpaw the biggest mouse on the fresh-kill pile "here you go." He gives it to her.

"Thanks but I was going for the bass over there..." She goes and grabs it and leaps across the river again then lays down to eat it. Sharkpaw sighs and his tail drops between his legs.

Waspkit stretched as he woke up, when he opened his eyes he jumped. Crimsonkit was right there.

"Great StarClan!" He yelped, "were you watching me sleep?!"
Crimsonkit smiled "I was just waiting for you to wake up! C'mon!" Crimsonkit bit down on Waspkit's tail and pulled him out of his nest "you're crazy!" Waspkit squealed.

Waspkit jumped up and saw his mom and brother still asleep. He sighed and looked back over to Crimsonkit. Crimsonkit gestured with her tail for him to follow her and walked out of the nursery.

Waspkit trots after her "where are we going?" He asks "you'll see!!" Crimsonkit picks up her pace and Waspkit follows behind her.

Crimsonkit led Waspkit behind the apprentices' den, Waspkit saw a hole in the ground, it looked deep.
