Chapter 5

I smirked and passed the chapter over to Vae, "Here, finished."

Vae paused and opened her email to read the chapter; after a long pause, she raised her eyes to meet mine.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!"

I smiled lightly, "whats the issue?"

"You made my character be in an abusive relationship?!?"

"Love stories need angst."

Vae raised her voice, "ANGST not ABUSE!"

Jordan stepped out of his office, clearing his throat to get our attention, "Girls.."

I turned my chair and crossed my arms to look at our boss. Vae did the same, not dropping her pissed-off expression. 

"What's the issue? Why is there yelling?"

I cut Vae off, "She is refusing to work with me. She's yelling because she dislikes the chapter I wrote."

"SHE'S SABOTAGING THE STORY!"

"AM NOT!"

Jasper whispered over, "Lower your voice."

Vae and I both cut him off, "Shut up Jasper."

Jordan's eyes widened and flashed a sort of anger we had never seen before, "Why can you two not work together? What the hell is wrong with you guys? I asked one thing of you and you can't even START it."

I lowered my head, "Sorry sir"

but Vae doubled down, "She's miserable. I don't understand why you hired her, she can't even write a story correctly."

I mumbled, "bitch.. Maybe if you weren't busy writing your characters fucking you'd see-"

"Sage. Vae."

"You are merging your stories whether you like it or not. Either bond over the story, or just get it done to get it done. I don't care, but if you cause another problem in this office, I will fire you both."

Vae and I made eye contact before sighing together, "yes sir."

Jordan nodded and stepped back into his office, leaving us to sit in our silence. I switched my eyes from Vae to Jasper and rolled my chair over. "I'm so sorry Jasper, I didn't mean to raise my voice at you."

Vae jumped in, "Me either. I'm sorry too."

"It's okay guys... I know you didn't mean to."

I nodded, "You're gonna be a great dad after dealing with our childish behavior for so long." Vae and I laughed lightly before sliding back over to our desks. 

"Vae, do you want to try and find a common interest? Maybe we both like a topic and can agree on something."

"Sure.. what are you interested in?"

"Well, I love cats."

she huffs quietly, "I prefer rodents."

I mumble, "no wonder you act like a-" I stopped and spoke again, "In my free time, I like to stay home and watch shows."

"mm.. I prefer going to my local cafe or bars."

I sigh, "I stan a few kpop groups."

"Oh really? me too. Who do you stan?"

"Ateez, Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen-"

"Oh. I only stan Straykids."

"oh.. I've heard of them"

She nods slowly, "mm..'

We both sigh and turn back towards our tables.

"Sage, you're unbearable."

"You too, Vae, you too."

"We agree on something, at least."

"mm.. just write the next chapter. Get it to me soon.

"whatever."
