Chapter 5 - Rumors

Brielle's POV

Mitch finally carries me out of the water and towards the rest of the guys who are sitting on towels on the sand. I look at Tyler who seems to not be phased by Mitch carrying me in his arms.

Mitch sets me down and I sit on the ground as most of the guys go out to the water.

My phone buzzes and I look to see two texts.

From: Carla
"Okay so I got word about Last Night's Mistake (in which you had one, how ironic lololol) coming and touring and they are down. They don't want to be labelled as the "opening act" so it's a split show. Our set list only got one song cut to make room, but they don't want to change the tour name cause they think it's cool apparently. Whatever floats their boat I guess."

I sigh and text her back.

From: Brielle
"Uh no, it's whatever floats OUR boat. This is Stealing The Unknown's concert tour that we planned and we INVITED Last Night's Mistake to tour with us to bring together two fan bases that are similar to each other. They are a GUEST. If they don't like these rules/standards then they can go fuck off for all I care. So we get more songs and they go first. We are the main act and whatever song Ben wants me to do with them, I'll sing it. I won't label them as an opening act because I hate that label too, but I'm not cutting any of our set list for them, because as I said before, we invited them."

"Geez Elle, you seem so pissed at whatever you're doing on your phone that you may break the screen with your thumbs." Jason laughs and I sigh.

"It's band business. Stressful stuff." I chuckle and check the second message.

From: Ben
"Hey Brielle! So I texted Carla about the tour but besides that, I got the song that we want you to be a featured artist in! It's a song we wrote and recorded a while back but we didn't know who we wanted to feature in it, but Keegan, Ryan, Austin and I want you to be that person, so I attached a link to the instrumental and lyrics. Hope you like it."

I open the link and it reads "A Love Like War (feat. Brielle Aceti)" (a/n - original song is from All Time Low but for the sake of the book it's not. ily atl)

"What a fitting song..." I mumble. I read out the lyrics and listen to the beat and to my surprise, I like it.

From: Brielle
"I like the song! Can't wait to see it come all together. When do you need me in the studio?"

I look out to see the guys goofing around in the water.

"So, how's tour planning coming Elle?" Ryan asks.

"Stressful still. Trying to cooperate with a band that isn't very cooperative is difficult. I think we got it figured out though."

"What's the tour called and do we get free tickets?" Ryan asks and I laugh.

"It's called The Reckless and Brave Tour, and I don't see why not." I smile as my phone buzzes.

From: Ben
"Glad to see you like it. You doing anything tomorrow? We plan to be in the studio all week so just shoot me a text for any date is good for you. I also got your strict rules/standards from Carla. You're right, and I'm sorry for intruding. We will follow those standards from now on, and also sing A Love Like War during our performance."

I set my phone down and stand up to go into the water.

(Time Skip)

Brielle's POV

"So Christmas is coming up. In like three weeks. We gotta get gift ideas for everybody!" Adam says as we are driving back home. It's me, Adam, Tyler, Mitch and Jerome in Mitch's car.

"Actually I don't want anything for Christmas. I got pretty much what I want. A tour for the summer, and my new album being released either end of December or beginning of January."

"Your solo album? Didn't your solo career like...fail?" Jerome asks.

I sigh. "Yes Jerome it did thanks for the reminder but my manager thinks I should give it another go. With the songs in the album he thinks it will be a hit. I've only released acoustic songs to try another genre and no one liked it because I'm Brielle Aceti from Stealing The Unknown and I should stick with what I do best, and now I've been working on it for a few months now."

"Well we are still getting you stuff. We aren't gonna leave you out." Adam says and I smile.

"Guys..." Mitch grabs the knob of the radio and turns it up.

"Stealing The Unknown...geez how many times have we said that name right? They are now partnering with Last Night's Mistake, a band also from New Jersey with lead singer Ben Thompson, guitarist Austin Radcliff, bassist Ryan Jacobs and drummer Keegan Anderson are the split show of Stealing The Unknown's tour, The Reckless and Brave Tour which begins in May. Also Ben Thompson has offered Brielle Aceti a chance to record a song with them called "A Love Like War" which sounds like a very odd title for those two to be singing together."

"What does that mean Elle?" Jerome asks and Tyler and I look at each other with fear.

"Yes Maria I agree. Those two are both from Jersey and seem to have known each other for a long time. I think that Brielle Aceti has stopped her relations with Youtube star, Tyler Christie and moved on to date Ben Thompson."

How the hell did they find this out?

"Well apparently there was witnesses that saw Brielle and her band mates going to Ben's house to celebrate Last Night's Mistake's successful tour, and saw Brielle outside looking a bit distressed. Do you think that Ben and Brielle-"

The radio was soon cut off from Tyler leaning between the driver and passenger seats and hitting the power button on the radio.

"What the hell Tyler?" Jerome turns the radio on.

"It's about Elle. Rumors. Who wants to hear rumors about our friend?" Tyler looks at me and I sigh of relief.

"Thank you." I mouth to him and he nods.

"Yeah I think they did. It wouldn't surprise me at least. But I'm very excited for their tour coming up and Brielle's new solo album that we had been told would be more of her style." The radio says and I lean back.

Thank god for Tyler cutting the radio at the right moment.
