Everything after the incident was a blur.
Nanay Pacing was declared as DOA upon arriving at the hospital. She refused to calmly come with the police after they had warned her to drop her weapon.
Colet and I were rushed to the nearest local hospital just as the firemen arrived to put out the burning shed. She was still unconscious when her stretcher was rolled to the ambulance.
Colet's head wounds were too severe that she had to be airlifted to a bigger and more equipped hospital immediately. I didn't have the chance to visit her.
The police came as soon as the nurses were done dressing most of my wounds. I provided my statement on the horrors of what happened that night and was eventually left to rest and recuperate.
The nurses quickly realized that I wasn't comfortable at being touched. Everyone respected it and seemed to deduced that it was due to the traumatic experience we've just had.
We were lucky that Colet's dad came looking for her. It was already 2 hours past her curfew when he decided to go look for her.
The police contacted my family and just as I was waking up the following morning, I saw them milling around in my hospital room. Relief shown on their faces, knowing I will be okay.
A week passed until I was finally able to visit Colet in the hospital.
I still had bandages wrapped on my leg and had to rely on a cane to help me with walking.
I narrowly escaped the burning shed before it completely collapsed. One of the beams of the ceiling fell directly on my leg and burned my skin. I quickly push it off, ignoring the burns on my hands, but not before it had done its damage.
I could hardly stand when I saw Nanay Pacing talking to Colet. She laid on the ground with blood pooling at her leg. She seemed tired as she looked at me with sad eyes.
The doctors finally discharged me from the hospital yesterday morning. I was given strict instructions to take it easy for the next few days.
I don't think my doctors would be happy if they've known I went out to visit a friend today.
I just had to see her.
I was nervous. I didn't have any news on how she was or if she even remembers me. A lot could've happened in a week.
Room 913, this is it.
I knocked lightly and slowly opened the door. I saw Colet right away, still beautiful as ever, despite the bandages on her head and the tubes on her arm.
She was looking at the window and quickly noticed me entering her room.
Colet gave me a soft smile and whispered, "Hi."
