The backstage area of the concert was buzzing with excitement. Metallica had just finished a phenomenal set, and the energy was electric. You navigated the maze of equipment and people, your heart pounding with pride for your brother, Cliff Burton, the legendary bassist.
"Y/N!" Cliff's voice cut through the noise as he spotted you. His face lit up with a smile, and he wrapped you in a bear hug. "I'm so glad you could make it."
"I wouldn't miss it for the world," you replied, hugging him back tightly. "You guys were incredible tonight."
Cliff grinned, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "Come on, let me introduce you to the guys."
You followed him, weaving through the crowd until you reached the rest of the band. James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich were engrossed in conversation, but Kirk Hammett was tuning his guitar, looking deep in concentration.
"Kirk, this is my sister, Y/N," Cliff said, nudging Kirk with his elbow.
Kirk looked up, a friendly smile spreading across his face as he set his guitar down. "Hey, Y/N. Nice to meet you. Cliff's told us a lot about you."
You felt a blush creep up your cheeks. "All good things, I hope."
"Of course," Kirk said with a chuckle. "He says you're the real music expert in the family."
You laughed, shaking your head. "I don't know about that, but I do love music. You guys were amazing tonight."
"Thanks," Kirk said, his eyes sparkling with genuine appreciation. "So, do you play any instruments?"
"A bit of guitar," you admitted, feeling a bit shy under his intense gaze. "But nothing compared to you."
"Maybe we could jam together sometime," Kirk suggested, his voice warm and inviting. "I'd love to hear you play."
Your heart skipped a beat. "I'd like that."
Cliff reappeared with drinks, handing them out and raising his own. "To family and music!"
"To family and music!" everyone echoed, clinking glasses.
The party carried on, but you found yourself constantly drawn back to Kirk. He was easy to talk to, his passion for music matching your own. Hours passed like minutes as you shared stories, laughed, and bonded over your favorite bands.
At one point, Kirk leaned in closer, his voice soft. "You know, I feel like I've known you forever. There's something special about you, Y/N."
You looked into his eyes, feeling a connection that was undeniable. "I feel the same way, Kirk."
Just then, Cliff appeared beside you, a knowing smile on his face. "Hey, Y/N, mind if I steal Kirk for a bit? We've got some band stuff to discuss."
"Of course not," you said, giving Kirk a warm smile. "I'll catch up with you later."
Kirk squeezed your hand before following Cliff, his touch lingering in your mind.
As the night wound down and the crowd thinned, you found yourself outside, the cool night air a refreshing contrast to the heat of the party. You were lost in thought when you heard footsteps approaching.
"Hey," Kirk's voice brought you back to the present. "Got a minute?"
"Always," you replied, smiling.
Kirk took a deep breath, his eyes earnest. "I know we just met, but I feel like there's something special here. I'd really like to get to know you better, if you're interested."
Your heart swelled with happiness. "I'd like that too, Kirk. A lot."
He smiled, taking your hand in his. "How about we start with a walk? I want to hear all about your favorite bands."
You nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and possibility. As you walked together, hand in hand, you knew that this was just the beginning of something extraordinary.
I hope you enjoyed this one-shot! Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to add or change.
