Simon's POV
The sliding glass doors to the offices opened smoothly as I strutted into the elegantly built building. The marble desk that spanned across my view was shiny and inviting, with Leslie, the petite blonde receptionist, tapping away at the computer behind it.
"Morning, Leslie." I gave her a grin. Her head shot up and she gave me a feeble attempt of a smile and a weak 'good morning'. "What do I have planned for today?"
"W-well..." She stammered, shuffling through the paper son her desk, before coming across a schedule. "Just your regular Wednesday meetings with the clients, recording sessions... The normal, sir." She placed the papers back into files with shaking hands.
"Thank you." I nodded before turning and walking toward the elevator. Pulling out my phone, I scrolled through my emails. Most of them were from undiscovered talents, begging for a chance to be signed with me. Once in a blue moon would you stumble across your next pop star this way, but that was very seldom. I deleted the spam, which was most of it, as I stepped into the elevator. I pressed the top floor button, then continued my scrolling. An email from my younger brother that he had sent late last night caught my eye.
Brother,
Hello! It has been awhile since we last spoke, hasn't it? Well, I have some grand news; we've decided to adopt another daughter, and we found the perfect girl. Her name is Tinsley, and she is an orphan from the United States, California exactly. She's different, Si, definitely unlike most seventeen year olds nowadays. Me and Clarissa would be delighted if you'd meet her soon, but just you. I don't want her to be exposed to any of your musicians like Natalia was so early.
I chuckled at the thought of my disowned niece, who ran away with a member of one of the old bands I used to manage. We had to drop them after that little incident. Sitting down at my desk, I continued reading the email.
But, she has quite a talent on her. I've attached a video of her singing at the orientation night. We will be landing late Tuesday night, and hopefully she can be introduced to you sometime this week.
Cheers! Dalton
Setting my phone down on the desk, I logged onto my desktop and went back to the email, opening up the video attached. The picture popped up to a shabby looking stage with a girl placed on a stool in the middle of it. She was tall, pale skin, dirty blonde hair. She already had the image of someone who could have an influence in the industry, but did she have the talent to go along with it? When she spoke, her voice was considerably weak. She said she would be singing Drunk by Ed, a great song. When she began singing, my eyes widened and I straightened out in my chair. She was brilliant! Her voice contained so much passion and emotion, something her face held no evidence of before. She stooped, and so did the video, and I was left completely awestruck.
"Who was that, Si?" My head shot up to see the boys of One Direction, Louis speaking for them.
"Just..." I glanced back at my brothers email and sighed. "Just a girl I'm thinking of signing."
"She sounds fit." Zayn chuckled, which caused the other boys to laugh and blush madly.
I just shook my head at them, "Immature boys..."

Tinsley's POV
My fingers gripped the cloud-like pillow beneath my head as I snuggled deeper into the comfortable bed. I hadn't had this kind of sleep in ages, which was refreshing. I knew I had to get up soon, to help the little kids with breakfast and... Oh wait, I wasn't an orphan anymore. I wasn't even in California anymore. I was relocated to a beautiful penthouse in central London. Fucking London! Glancing up at the vintage sterling silver alarm clock on the nightstand next to me new bed, I nearly leapt from the cloud, it was noon! How long had I actually slept for? I placed my hands below me, and pushed my sleepy body from the mattress, accidentally tumbling to the carpeted floor in a daze. I laid there for what seemed like hours, before I heard a muffled yelling from downstairs.
