- This chapter focuses on Kira's past.Kira and her father were having dinner together, both of them were eating the traditional Japanese dish which is curry rice. But soon their moment was broken once the telephone rang.
-
Kira's father stopped eating his dish as he placed the chopsticks between the side of the bowl before standing up from his seat and walking to the phone to answer. On the other hand, Kira was confused why someone decided to contact their phone number. It's rare for their family to receive phone calls unless it's the doctor telling about her mother's condition. Her father nodded and put the telephone down as he looked at Kira and approached her."Kira, listen to me. Stop eating your dinner, and get inside the car. No buts, let's go."
Kira's father started walking to the garage to prepare the vehicle that they're going to use while Kira was still sitting at the dinner table looking very confused, but once she thinks about how serious her father was. She was starting to feel nervous. She had no choice but to follow him because it was important. She reached the garage and could see him sitting at the passenger seat and the garage door wide open. Kira let out a quiet sigh as she opened the car door and sat at the backseat of the car. Once Kira got inside the car, her father started to drive the car to the hospital as fast as he could. Not only was Kira feeling very scared and nervous, but her father is feeling the same thing too. A few minutes have passed, and they reached the hospital as they walked inside the building.
"Dad, what is going on? Did something happen to mom?"
Kira said while she was walking beside her father, but he didn't even bother answering his daughter because of how worried he is right now. She looked at her father with a disappointed look when he didn't answer her question, and just decided to follow his lead. After tons of hallways, they finally reached the room where their mother is being isolated and the first thing they saw was there was a doctor and a nurse standing next to her bed. Death bed.
The doctor walked towards both of them with a disappointed look, while the nurse on the other hand was just standing next to their mother.
"I'm sorry Mr. And Ms. Tachibana."
Those words just flew right outside the doctor's mouth, Kira and her father looked devastated knowing that the person they loved the most died. Kira quickly ran to her mother's bed and pushed the nurse and the doctor away from her. She kneeled to the ground and stared at her one last time as she started crying.
"Mom..! Please.. please don't leave me.. I need you.."
Kira muttered. She can't afford to see her mother like this and she would do anything to make sure that she's still alive. She looked at the doctor with a little hint of empathy to her eyes, but she was still hurt despite the fact that the doctor mentioned that she's dead.
"Doctor.. please.. I know she's still alive."
