Ralph Shawn

Huntersville it's a small town known for its game , the irony doesn't fall on me . My grandfathers used to be hunters they had discovered the  small town and the abundance and riches in animals ,the animals  where alot until foreigners  come hunted animals for sports, enjoyment and the animals instantly disappeared little by little .

I thank God for the new laws on hunting it saved the few animals that where left the sheriff had installed new laws and regulations which kept foreigners away.

The town in the 20th century was completely abandoned and only the locals where left behind until the recent Huntersville new game opening . The games had stared about a week ago and we had school that week so we only went the following week , 2 weeks left before the event was finished.

The wanted to promote the town again for businesses and tourists.
But like each town Huntersville had its secret .

It was last day of school and we where all packing for Huntersville.  My mom was half Indian and my Dad was black American and she had always wanted us to her home town to know all about her roots she said .

She wanted us to learn a bit of western Indian culture for some reason, I did not personally care.

. ‘Are you ready ?’. Mom knocked on my room.

I  nodded. I had to live with this mom, after all.

‘One, people in this town, particularly the parents of small children, are very particular about what they wear they are very traditional baby and they will look abit aloof since.......they uhm.....uhm ....aren'tparticular welcoming to new people" My mom finally let out.

"So they are mean !,’ Ralph finished more as statement my 11 year old brother let out , he had been exiced to hear about this since mom brought it up.

Me and my brother took after our father in looks we both had light skin, but darker black hair that was curly .

Mom was more darker with Indian heritage with beautiful long  straight hair and petite build .

‘Right. Not the likeliest scenario they will kick us out for being black and not Indian , but possible. I said sarcastically

Mom just shaked her head into a no smiling. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window.

We had finally arrived after a 10 hour plane ride , we lived in New Orleans . After we arrived mom got a rental  and pulled up at the police station.

My Mom was a cop and my Dad was a hotshot lawyer they met in law school , dated, got married and had us.

"They want a quick arrest so they can feel safe again."  We heard the police officer say to an older man

Two, the evidence is beyond doubt. I’ve never seen a case so noticeable. The older man had said .

"Good day gentlemen , another case,  isn't heritage week game festival?’ Mom asked

‘Yes, i guess crime never stops.’ The younger dective said

‘Okay,  This seems like a big one.’ The old man said

Samuels had leaned forward.

‘We can’t say we had a crime like this before – although if he has, we’ll probably find out
once we really start digging – but you dont have to worry ma'am we have it all underc control you just enjoy heritage festival and stay safe , we will be proving everyone with maze and full protection so dont worry. " The young Dective said he must not know who my mom was , this aught to be good I thought

Mom and the old man just smiled  at the rookie .

"Daniel , uhm this is my goddaughter,  dective Lindsey Shawn , she was at the top of her academy and finished the youngest at the police academy,  I tried bribing her to come work for me but she didn't want to city girl through and through … and thats her daughter  lisa Shawn she is studying  criminal justice like her father and the youngest is Ralph Shawn ’

‘oh , uhm i am so sorry ma"am didn't know ,’ Daniel  finished Blushing of embarrassed. He was about my age and cute too but tried hard to impress people.

‘Right. Yah its okay and small town crimes are really bizzare and inhumane at times not really my styles. He’s a very good chief , so nice to see uncle Sam , How  is Margaret the  kids, they must be so grown and you Daniel nuce to meet you.

Daniel nodded

‘Margaret is old as me but still beautiful and the kids are all grown up , She used to babysit them when she was younger’ he looked at Daniel .

‘We will  catch up later , please tell Maggie the we just need to freshup first ’ Mom says

Ralph leaned against the window too bored out of his mind for this conversation, me too buddy , I wish we would just leave already this place is giving me the creeps.
