Chapter 1 - Part 1

Mei Yisi is an omega. He got married yesterday.

He and the partner arranged by his family went to get a marriage certificate, then came back from the Civil Affairs Bureau.

His mom asked him about the plans for the wedding ceremony later.

He said, 'What's the point? I can't be bothered.'

His mom asked where they would live after getting married.

He said it doesn't matter, it's the same everywhere.

His mom asked how his new husband was and why they didn't come home together.

He said he's just a human being, and couldn't make it back because he was busy with something.

His mom got so angry that she scolded him. After making a call to her new son-in-law, she told him to go out and pick up his husband who was working overtime.

He went out looking listless, stood at the bus stop near the house, and waited.

After waiting for quite a while, several buses came, and Mei Yisi looked at the crowd getting off, feeling a bit confused.

What does his husband look like again?

He forgot.

Mei Yisi simply didn't move, waiting for his new husband to come find him.

Just as expected, his husband, upon seeing him, walked over in his direction, even waving to him.

Mei Yisi glanced at his husband a few times.

Just like the people around him, he had two eyes and a nose-nothing special.

His husband came over and took his hand, saying, Thank you for taking the trouble of waiting so long.'

He um-ed.

His husband asked him what's wrong.

He said 'nothing' and kept silent.

What's there to say? The more you talk about things, the less you actually say.

Boring.

He didn't speak, but his husband vividly described the day's happenings at the workplace.

His husband seemed to be an office worker; anyway, he went to the office.

What's there to say about things at work? It's either this company's affairs or that company's affairs, but no matter what, it's none of my goddamn business.

Mei Yisi found it uninteresting, so he continued to remain silent.

[After dinner today, I'll help you move. If you don't say anything, it means you agree!]

[Huh?]

What did I agree to?

Mei Yisi snapped back to reality, looked at his husband who was beaming with joy, thought for a moment, and then shut his mouth.

Forget it, whatever. I can't be bothered to talk, boring.

His mother enthusiastically greeted her son-in- law, bustling around and making arrangements. Mei Yisi grabbed a plate of melon seeds and started munching.

His mother scolded him for being a lazybum. Now that he's married, how could he still behave this badly?

Mei Yisi snorted.
