"Look, mommy, I'm so high up!" I sat on my mothers shoulders, looking around at the different people at the county fair.
"Yeah, baby, I see. You having fun?"
"Yeah." I spot my father in the distance, carrying cotton candy and funnel cake.
"Look! Daddy has cotton candy!"
"Oh he does. If it was the expensive kind I'm gonna beat his ass." I laughed at my mom, not knowing what that even meant.
"Beat his ass, mommy!" I said, copying my mother as normal.
"Baby don't say that!" She playfully scolded me.
"Hi daddy!" I waved at my father who approached us. He came and gave me a kiss, picking me up and holding me on his hip.
"Hey baby."
"Mommy said she was gonna beat your ass." I say, once again repeating after my mother.
"Not if I don't let her." He teased.
"I got cotton candy and funnel cake. Which one do you want baby?" The funnel cake smelled really good.
"Funnel cake!"
"Here you go, princess." He handed me the paper plate with the funnel cake and a plastic fork.
"Riyah, say 'thank you daddy.'" My mom says, tapping my nose.
The video ends, and the room goes silent.
"Thank you daddy," I say through tears.
