They were in the supermarket, buying things that were missing in the apartment they shared together.

Minghao moved the cart with Mingyu next to him, choosing things between the two of them. In anyone's eyes they seemed like an ordinary couple, but to Minghao's bitterness that was not the case.

At that moment they were in the aisle where there were cereals and Minghao was choosing between them, not being able to decide between the regular Froot Loops or the Krunchers.

"Do you want me to go get the milk?" Well, Mingyu drank cow's milk and Minghao drank soy milk.

"Please, Gyu." Minghao looked directly at him and smiled sweetly. Mingyu didn't take his eyes off him.

That was happening lately. Minghao looked into his eyes and smiled at him like that, in that sweet, adorable, beautiful way and Mingyu didn't know how to react, just stare like a fool.

"I'll be right back," he said, starting to walk down the aisle. Minghao looked at him until he turned and disappeared and continued deciding which cereal to bring (he would surely put both in the cart and that would be the end of the matter).

He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice someone approaching him, smiling broadly and putting a hand on his cart.

The omega looked up from both cereals and realized that a man had approached him. An alpha man.

"Hey. how are you?"

He spoke to him as if they were old friends, but Minghao had never seen him in his life. He knew what that was about and didn't even smile.

"Pardon me?" he said, putting the two cereals into the cart, to put his hands on it and start pushing it, but the alpha stopped him, still smiling at him.

Minghao raised both eyebrows, not at all amused. It wasn't the first time he had encountered an alpha like that, but he didn't care about them, because none of them were Mingyu.

"Hey, the truth is that I saw you and I thought you were very cute, wouldn't you give me your number?"

Straight to the point. Minghao inwardly rolled his eyes.

"The truth is that I don't usually give my number to strangers, sorry." Minghao was polite, but he didn't smile. He tried to move the cart again, but the alpha wouldn't let him.

"Why not?"

"I don't have to explain it to you, stupid alpha," he thought, but he just let out a sigh.

"Because not," he answered briefly, but the alpha did not give in.

"It's a shame because you look very pretty to me..." The man approached Minghao and he stepped back on impulse, bumping into something firm.

Then Minghao felt a hand wrap around his waist and smelled dominant alpha pheromones rising in the air. He recognized them very well, that scent that immediately enveloped him.

He looked to the side and up and there was Mingyu, with a frown and an unfriendly expression that he rarely saw from him.

"Is something wrong, love?" He said, leaning towards him and Minghao felt his heart skip a beat. Was Mingyu...?

"Ah, nothing, dear." He took advantage of the opportunity. "Only this person is asking me for my number and I already told him no."

Mingyu's grip on his waist grew tighter and the alpha looked at the other with cold eyes.

"And he keeps insisting on you?"

The alphas stared at each other in that space between the omega's head and there was clear tension.
