(Y/n) watched as the sun rose along the Cybertronian horizon. Today was a special day for one of her many friends. It was the eleventh anniversary of the rebuilding of Cybertron, eleven years since she's seen Megatron. There isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't think of him, even if its only for a little bit.
Predaking walked down the stairs of their shared home. Eleven years ago he was found wounded on Cybertron, and shared the story of how he had managed to cling onto the Nemesis the whole battle. It made (Y/n) overjoyed to see her adopted son alive. That was another good thing to come out of that day.
"Mother?" Predaking spoke. "What are you doing up?"
"I couldn't sleep." (Y/n) spoke plainly, looking over at Predaking. "Is Bishop awake?"
"Not yet, but he will be soon. He's excited to see Bumblebee today." Predaking replied. "Why couldn't you sleep?"
"I had a nightmare early on in the night and just haven't been able to sleep since." (Y/n) spoke, getting up.
"Mother, it is important for you to sleep-"
"I'm fine, Predaking." She smiled and put a hand on his shoulder. "Want your morning energon?"
"...Sure." Predaking nodded.
As (Y/n) was preparing the energon in a cube for Predaking to ingest, excited footsteps ran down the stairs. "Today's the big day, mom!"
(Y/n) chuckled. "I know, Bishop. Come, have some energon. Then we'll all get dressed and head over to aunt Rayne's house."
Bishop excitedly drank all his energon and handed the cube back to his mother for her to wash later. Predaking then drank his and quickly washed it out before putting it in the sink for it to be properly washed later. Predaking had a weird feeling about the coming days, but shrugged it off.

At Rayne's house, Optimus was preparing some energon for himself and Rayne. Bishop looked around the living room for something. Predaking walked over to Optimus to greet the large mech. Over the years they had become good friends. Rayne walked over to (Y/n) and Bishop. "Can I get you guys anything to drink? Some energon?"
"No thank you Rayne," Bishop started. "Where's Opal?"
"She's upstairs getting dressed. Go ahead and wait on the couch for her, she'll be done soon." Rayne smiled down at the boy, then watched him go off. "How have you been doing, (Y/n)?"
"Oh you know...hanging in there."
Rayne's smile fell slightly. She turned to Optimus. "Hey honey, I'm stepping out for a minute with (Y/n)."
"Don't be too long," He called. "We leave soon."
Rayne nodded and led (Y/n) out. (Y/n) spoke first. "Will uh...Smokescreen be there?"
"Yes. Honestly that whole situation was a fling for both of you." Rayne rolled her eyes.
"I know, but he have...history now."
(Y/n) had tried dating Smokescreen three years after Megatron passed. She'd tried her hardest to love someone else, but everything they did reminded her of Megatron. She broke up with him after six months, and has scarcely seen him since. She's seen him maybe once a year over the last eight years since they broke up.
Rayne rolled her eyes again. "It's been years. You both can't keep dodging each other forever, especially for the anniversary and other military issues. We're all in the government for Cybertron, we're bound to come across each other."
(Y/n) sighed and looked away, not wanting to talk about Smokescreen anymore. Rayne softened. "Okay, alright, I'm sorry. How else have you been doing?"
(Y/n) knew what she meant. In the days leading up to the anniversary, (Y/n) always had nightmares about that day. About the day she killed her own sparkmate. She crossed her arms. "...not well."
"Do Bishop and Predaking know?"
"No, of course not. At least, not that it's about him." (Y/n) looked over at her.
Rayne nodded. "Want a hug?"
"Not really." (Y/n) shook her head. "I better get back in there and make sure Bishop is playing nice."
Walking back into the house, (Y/n) saw Bishop reaching out to touch Opal's hair. She watched curiously as her son barely hovered over Opal's new braid.
"Do you like it?" Opal grinned. "My dad helped me with it. I think it looks pretty."
Bishop cleared his throat. "Um, yeah. Pretty."
"Do you not like it?" Opal grabbed the braid and her face contorted into a sad one.
"What? No! I love it! Sorry, I was uh, thinking of something else." Bishop tried to cover for himself. "You excited to see Bumblebee today?"
"You bet! And Arcee too! I want to be like her so bad..." Opal sighed.
"I thought you wanted to be like Idris? Or your dad?" Bishop spoke, confused.
"It's so hard to choose who to be like!" Opal whined.
"They are all good role models..." Bishop thought to himself.
"Who do you wanna be like?" Opal asked with a grin.
"My mom, duh!" Bishop spoke like it was obvious. That made (Y/n)'s heart clench.
"Your mom was the Decepticon commander though. She was a bad guy!" Opal protested.
"But she's good now! And she fought valiant...valiant...uh..."
"Valiantly." Opal corrected.
"Right! Against my dad and the Decepticons! I wanna be brave just like her." Bishop grinned.
"Bishop," Optimus spoke, coming up to hand his daughter an energon cube. "Your mother went through many hardships to get to where she is now. I am doubtful you would want to endure the same things."
"I also went through some things to make sure you could be safe." (Y/n) finally spoke up.
"Oh, mom. How long have you been standing there?" Bishop's face flushed, embarrassed.
"Not long." (Y/n) smiled. "Optimus, we have to leave now don't we?"
"Indeed. Is Rayne still outside?"
She nodded. Optimus then hummed. "Alright then, let's roll out."
