Aurora

Chapter 12

Aurora wakes up in the morning and looks around her room and then at Astarion who is still holding her. She smiles up at him and he smiles down at her.

"We have a lot to do today," Aurora says and Astarion gives a look of confusion.

"What are you talking about? You are staying right here in this damn bed until the effects of the flower have worn off." Aurora sits up and shakes her head, leaving the bed. She walks over to the mirror and fixes her hair and looks back at Astarion.

"I'm sorry, I will be careful, I promise. I just need to help these people. Daniel came up with a really good idea to start renovations on the old buildings on the other side of the town. If we can do that, then we will have more places for people who come here looking for space to live. We will be able to help more people." Astarion just stares at her as she walks away and sighs, rolling his eyes as he gets out of the bed.

"Always fucking Daniel." He grabs his shirt and follows after her and walks with her to the run down buildings.

"This is going to be way more difficult than it sounds when the issues are ordered. Gods', I can't believe I let it get this bad." Daniel walked up and put his hand on her back.

"If you need help, everyone here can help, just give the orders." Astarion rolls his eyes and steps up to the buildings, looking back at Aurora. It is almost as if he feels the need to compete, and so does Daniel.

"Some of us are stronger."

"Some of us are smarter."

"Some of us aren't useless humans." Aurora yells at both of them and they both look at her. She rolls her eyes and begins walking away.

"I swear to the God's above, if one of you even thinks about arguing during this, then you will be put in your room for the rest of it. I don't want to hear you two say another word like that to each other again. Do you both hear me?" They follow after her and nod their heads.

"Yes ma'am," Daniel says and looks at Astarion with a disgusted look.

"Yes Princess, anything you ask," Astarion tries to one up and sticks close to her side. They walk together and they get to her Guards.

"Alright, listen up. We are doing these renovations to help out other people who need housing and people in need of shelter. It is a dangerous world out there and..." Aurora begins to feel the effects of the flower again, but they aren't so bad. It is almost like one big cramp. Astarion hurries over before Daniel can and puts his hands on her cheeks and lifts up her head.

"It's okay, just breathe." Aurora nods her head and takes deep breaths, sitting down, Astarion kneeling down next to her and staring up at her. He was trying not to act like an obsessed partner, but it is the hardest thing ever, because he truly is obsessed.

"It may be dangerous at the sight so I want everyone who is helping to be careful and not just look out for themselves, but for the others around them. Thank you, now go help some people." The Guards leave one by one and Astarion and Daniel both stay with Aurora.

"You don't need to do anything if you don't want to. It's dangerous, just like you said."

"You're in pain, you're not helping." That is the difference between the two men. Daniel, of course, is trying to kill Aurora, but his directions aren't orders like Astarion's. Astarion orders her not to do something, maybe out of habit from his past.

"Guys, I will be fine. I need to help, I'll feel guilty if I don't." They nod their heads and they help her to the site. Guards are already making plans and bringing in builders with lots of talent and experience. Aurora greets the builders and they let her design the layout for the restoration of the buildings. They slowly begin working and Daniel does some research on the side. He escapes the restoration process and sneaks into a room he isn't supposed to be in. He reads books and letters on the old ruins. It was made in 1100 during Samurai times. Daniel decides to take that knowledge and use it against the people. He looks up and sees the door slightly close and footsteps moving away from it. Someone saw him. He slams his hand on the table and hurries out, but doesn't see anyone. Daniel sighs and Gale hurries away, having been the one who saw him. He hurries down to the site and pulls Astarion away.
