Chapter 43 : You deserve the world too

"So," Sakura, sitting across from Hinata, they were sat in the back corner of their favorite café. "

How was it?"

Hinata blushes. "Jeez Sakura, hello, nice to see you too."

"Hi Hinata, now will you please tell me how was finally having sex with Naruto," Sakura smirks at her from across the table. "I have a shift to get to in twenty and I want all the details."

"It was nice, okay. Really, really nice."

"Hinata." Sakura shakes her head at the other girl.

"What?"

"The way you say nice makes it sound like it was horrible."

"Stop" she laughs "It was nice, alright, what else do you want to hear?" Hinata shrugs. "That he hardly let me put on clothes all week and he was very, very, grateful I do yoga?"

"Yes!" Sakura claps softly. "That's exactly what I want to hear."

Hinata rolls her eyes "His stamina Sakura," she blushes "is impressive."

Sakura's smile is more mischievous than comforting. "I just wanted to make sure my idiot friend treated his wife right. What's so wrong with that?"

Hinata's device dings on the table "Speaking of you friend." Hinata picks it up, tapping the message. Her brow furrows.

"Huh?"

"It just said 'Gate now" Hinata stands. "He was meeting Lord Six this morning, he probably has a mission."

Hinata makes her way to the village gates, finding Naruto digging through his pack, running through the inventory she was now so familiar with.

Naruto looks up at the sound of her footsteps. "Hey, I gotta go, there's been an emergency and Kakashi-sensei needs me to leave now."

"Where are you going?"

"It's, S-Rank." Hinata knows that's code for, I'd like to tell you but I can't. Her security clearance was too low.

"I'm meeting an Anbu and Shikamaru about a mile out for more info. All I know is that something went wrong, Hinata. It's turning into a shit storm and we gotta head it off before another war breaks loose. I'll message you when I can."

"Be careful, please" Hinata feels her stomach clench, as Naruto takes her face between his hands. Bending and pressing his lips hard to hers.

"Sorry I couldn't make good on my promise, ya know, about before leaving on a mission."

Hinata giggles "I love you."

"Love you too." Naruto smiles, disappearing.

The past almost month had gone by slowly for Hinata. Messages came in at sporadic intervals from Naruto, sometimes she'd get multiple in a day. Holding an actual conversation while

other times she'd simply get one word 'Alive'. While she worried, she knew at least he was safe enough to send that message to her, even if she didn't get a message every day.

She had spent the time helping Shino prepare for his new role as an academy teacher, starting in August and going off on a handful of short missions of her own. So when a heavy pounding came from her front door she was surprised.

Hinata opens the door, finding Konohamaru, forearms braced on his thighs "You need to get to the hospital, they're bringing Naruto in."

"What do you mean, they're bringing Naruto in?" Hinata asks while putting her shoes on.

"I'm not sure, I just finished a mission so I was dropping off my report and Lord Six sent me to get you. All he said was Naruto's being brought into the hospital and he's unconscious.
