1981:
"Be with me Lord, in my hour of need. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness. Nor for the destruction wasted at noonday. Be with me Lord, in my hour of need. Because thou hast, made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most high, thy habitation. Be with me Lord, in my hour of need. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come night thy dwelling. Be with me Lord, in my hour of need. For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. Be with me Lord, in my hour of need".
The Thomas', the Warrens, the Glatzels and Mr. Johnson were sat in the living room, saying prayers for the innocent eight-year-old David Glatzel, as the house around them laid destroyed and ripped apart by an inhuman force.
"Let's take a break, shall we?" Ed closed the book and they all nodded, dispersing to different parts of the house. The Glatzels and Arne went into the dining room and the Thomas' and the Warrens went into the kitchen.
Alexandra sighed, leaning against the counter. "You alright, Alex?" Lorraine asked, placing a hand on the younger woman's back. "Yeah. It's just...seeing David, he reminds me so much of Eddie, and I can't even begin to imagine having my son go through this" Alexandra explained.
"I get it. I was like that with Judy" Lorraine smiled softly. They walked back into the dining room to talk to the family and they all sat down. "He can't take much more of this" David's father sighed as Arne took the boy upstairs to sleep. "He won't have to. Things will move quickly now that the exorcism's been approved. Father Gordon is on his way" Ed reassured them and Arne came back downstairs.
As he opened his mouth, a scream echoed through the house. Alexandra was the first one out of her seat and she ran up the stairs to Davids room, Ed and Arne following close behind her. "David! David! Where is he?!" his dad yelled and glass broke in the bathroom, screaming following soon after.
Alexandra and David's father body slammed the door until it opened, revealing David crouched down behind a bathroom counter. "What's happening, buddy? Are you okay? David, what's going on?" his dad asked as he slowly approached him.
David slowly stood up and stared at his father before running at him and stabbing him in the leg with a shard of glass. Screams ripped through the house and David grabbed the glass and started twisting it before ripping it out and aiming to stab him again. "NO!" Alexandra and Ed both yelled and made a grab for David, Ed grabbing the boy and Alexandra grabbing his arm.
David started screaming and thrashing in Ed's hold. "Father, we need to do this now!" Ed yelled as he fought against David. "Okay. Let's get him down to the car and we'll drive him to the church!" Father yelled. "No Father! Right now!" Alexandra yelled as everyone ran out the room and into the kitchen.
On the way down the stairs, an unseen force stopped David from going down the stairs and Ed yelled as he dragged the boy away, deep scratches being left all over the walls.
Lorraine cleared the kitchen table and Ed put David down, Alexandra grabbing the boy's arms and holding him down as Debbie and Arne joined in. "Save your servant who trusts in you, my God. Let him find you, Lord, a fortified tower in the face of the enemy" Father Gordon recited.
"Put on your full armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Against the powers of the darkness in this world. Against wickedness" Lorraine continued. David clenched her hand, making Lorraine gasp in pain and hold her forehead.
"Lorraine, are you okay? What's wrong?" Ed asked as he struggled to hold David down. "I'm fine" she stood up straight again, holding David down. "Lorraine?" Alexandra asked harshly, causing the older woman to look up at her and Alexandra could see fear in her eyes.
The table started shaking violently and David screamed in a distorted tone. "Lord! Send him aid from your Holy Place and watch over him from Sion!" Father yelled, splashing David with Holy Water several times. Everything went quiet as David went still but Alexandra could feel a slight rumbling in the floor.
Plates flew out of the cabinets, one hitting Father in the head and knocking him to the floor as another flew at Alexandra, smashing into her temple and sending her crumpling to the floor with a yelp. "ALLIE!" "ALEX!" Drew and Lorraine yelled at the same time.
Alexandra put her hand up and stood up using the table for support just as wind blew into the room, knocking everyone to the ground except for her as she held David down with all of her strength. His head cracked to look at her and a sharp pain shot through her head, a flash of an object lighting up in her mind before it's gone again and she groaned.
"Ed, grab the book! Do it! Hurry!" Lorraine yelled as she got back up and helped Alexandra hold David down. Ed grabbed the book and stood in front of David, yelling in Latin and the demon responded with laughter.
"It's not working!" Arne yelled as David's bones crack as he moved in an inhuman way, continuing to laugh as Debbie begged him to stop it. "Leave him alone!" Arne yelled. "Arne, don't talk to it!" Alexandra yelled and Arne looked at her.
"I said leave him alone! He's just a boy, you coward!" Arne continued to yell. "Arne, I said don't talk to it!" Alexandra screamed and Debbie and Arne get thrown away from the table. David wrestled himself out of Alexandra and Lorraine's grip, standing up and staring down Ed.
"DAVID!" Alexandra screamed as the colors heightened around her and his head snapped towards her. He slowly raised his hand towards Drew and Alexandra's eyes widened as she realised what he was going to do. She ran towards the table and jumped at the boy, tackling him off the table just as Drew yelped in pain and the camera crashed to the floor.
Alexandra pinned David's arms down and he screamed at her before twisting his arm around and grabbing her wrist, sharply bending it and a snap echoes out followed by her scream. She continued to hold him down despite her now broken wrist and he reached a hand up and touched the side of her head.
Pain explodes through her head and she screamed in agony, collapsing to the side as she held her head. She could only watch as he got off of her and jumped onto the table, running at Ed and tackling him to the ground. "I'll stop your heart, old man" the demon growled and Ed started gasping in pain.
Alexandra screamed in pain and anger and David snapped his head over to look at her, Lorraine hunching over in pain and Alexandra felt something trickle down her face from her nose. She spat out something, seeing it to be blood and David looked back to Ed.
"NO!" Alexandra screamed louder than she thought was possible and climbed to her feet. She ran at David and tackled him off of Ed and they both crashed to the floor, David climbing on top of her. "Bye bye, Scarface" the demon growled before David brought a fist down onto her stomach. Multiple cracks sounded out and she screamed as he pressed both of his hands to the side of her head.
She cried out in pain before David was ripped off of her by Arne. Alexandra wasted no time in pulling herself over to Ed, cradling his head as he turned onto his side, gasping for air as he clutched his chest. "Oh! Hon!" Lorraine cried, dropping down next to Ed and holding him as Alexandra fell onto her back.
She silently screamed in pain, clutching her head and Lorraine looked up at her with wide eyes as blood flowed out of Alexandra's mouth. She felt herself start to choke and she coughed, unable to move as more blood poured out of her mouth. "Honey? Baby? Stay awake, okay? Lorraine, what do I do?!" Drew panicked, dropping down next to his wife.
"Put her on her side! Now!" Lorraine yelled. "Somebody call 911!" is the last thing Alexandra heard before darkness consumed her.
