"Is that all for today ma'am?" I asked as I typed the lady's order into the computer. The customer,a regular middle aged woman who would always come at 5 o'clock sharp to order the mango green tea before she takes her usual seat in the middle of the cafe to do her work.
"Yes thank you!" She replied with a gummy smile on her face. I go to the back and begin making her order. It was a slow day today, most likely because it was a Sunday.
As I was making her order, my manager walks up to me and tells me that she'll leave earlier today because she had some personal business and that I should close the shop for her which I didn't mind since it was a Sunday so the shop would be closing earlier anyways.
I finish making nako-san's order and call her name out for her to collect it. She comes up to the counter and collects her drink and goes back for sit down with her laptop.
I grab a wet cloth and begin wiping the tables and turning the chains upside down so that they were laying on the tables. Nako-san says bye to me and leaves as she is often one of the last customers.
I wrap myself in a black puffer coat and wrap a thick warm scarf around my neck and I exit the cafe and lock the door.
With my hands in my thick coat pockets I start making my way to the campus. The wind brushed my face and I could feel my cheeks redden from the coldness. I put my pay check into my coat pocket and continue waking.

It's been around a year since she began working at pearl river cafe. She needed some extra cash to pay for necessities like food and room decor. Her parents had payed for her tuition fee and her dorm room and offered to give her monthly payments but she refused.
You see Utahime's parents were actually famous fashion designers but she didn't like to brag about being rich because she felt like it gathered unnecessary attention. She also didn't want to depend on her parents anymore since she had disobeyed them by choosing to go to Tokyo Metropolitan University instead of a university like Harvard or Yale in America. But after a lot of persuading her parents had finally agreed to send her to one of the Ivy League schools in Japan.
Whilst Utahime was walking she noticed a path way that she never noticed before. She decided to go through it and realised that it still lead to the school but instead of going through the main entrance it went through the outdoor sports field. She noticed that the cricket team was practicing was practicing for their upcoming tournament. She just ignored them and out her EarPods in and continued making her way back to the dorm.
As she was waking she heard an inaudible shout but she ignored it and not thought much of it. That was until she turned her head to the right and saw a ball flying right at her.
For some reason she couldn't move. It was like she was paralysed from her legs up. All she could was clench her eyes shut and brace for the impact.
Impact that never came..
She slowly opened her eyes to see an arm in front of her holding the ball that she thought was going to hit her. She traced the male muscular arm to lock eyes with a pair of brown eyes.
She looked at the person that had just saved her and realised that it was the black haired guy that ties his hair up often.
Suguru Geto
He lowered his arm and threw the ball back to the badminton team who were also very shocked with what had just happened and just kept shouting 'sorry' before continuing with their practice.
