The hours passed and the last class of the day arrived. For Isaac it was chemistry and for Liam it was English.
The day flew by, Liam was at recess with his group of friends commenting on the party, and Isaac ended up improving his mood after the first recess. It was always like that, no matter how upset he was, whenever he was with his friends he would pass by.
Isaac's POV
- So you're really not going to play on Saturday? Like, for real? - Jackson asks softly.
Jackson has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. He's the son of Stiles Stilinski, head of the FBI and dad's best friend, so we've known each other since we were little, we've even done some things together, so if I needed someone's help, it would always be Jackson who I would call.
- Dude, my dad will kill me if I sneak out of the house again - I complain irritably.
Last year my dad wouldn't let me go to one game and I sneak out of home with the help of Jackson and Liam. But Dad found out and taught me such a lesson that I swore I would never sneak out for a game again, until today.
- Isaac, you know that this is one of the most important games of the season, right? - he asks the obvious.
I share the title of team captain with Jackson and he is very dedicated to the team. Not that I'm not, but he's a bit obsessed, which isn't bad at all because it keeps us in line.
- I know Jackson, but it's not like it's the last game. I'll see if things at home calm down a little and then I'll see if I can come or not.
-If you learned to control that mouth of yours, you'd be going to training in the next hour, and not going to study like a little baby - I roll my eyes, I'm already starting to get irritated by this conversation.
- Shut up idiot - ok, that sounded louder than I wanted.
- Do Mr Mccal and Mr Stilinski want to share something with the class? - asks Professor Harris. Man, how I hate this idiot.
- No sir. - we responded in unison.
- Since you're so excited, you can come here to the board and solve the first two exercises
Great! Now my day is getting better and better! And to make it worse, I hadn't even done that yet. While I'm going to the board, Érica, a girl that I've been liking, discreetly passes me her paper with the answers. I wink at her and go do the exercise on the board.
Liam POV
I spent the day looking for arguments to convince Dad to let me go to the party.
At least it's during the weekend, which I can play to my advantage. If it were during the week it wouldn't even be worth going to all this work, since he rarely lets us go to parties like that. Only if it is at the beginning or end of the year, other than that it requires total concentration on studies.
On the positive side, today in English we received a test that we had taken and I scored and A. Personally, I really like English, and the fact that we received it today can be used to my advantage when I ask Dad to go out. I don't even know if he'll allow me to go without Isaac, but him going is out of the question, so now I just have to convince Dad that I'm responsible enough to go to a party alone.
- Idiot, the bell has already rung - I am pulled out of my thoughts by Theo, my best friend. I was so focused on thinking about how to convince Dad that I didn't even notice the bell ringing. I quickly pack my things and run to catch Theo.
- Bro, I think that with this A, I can convince my dad to go to the party on Saturday.
- If you can't convince your father, I'll come get you myself. Seriously, a party without the Mccals isn't a party – I laugh.
Theo is a very good person. At first we couldn't stand each other, but we turned out becoming best friends. Theo is the son of Derek Hale, a friend of Dad's. I remember when I was younger Dad and Derek didn't get along very well, maybe that's why Theo and I didn't get along either.
I used to hang out more with Danny, Jackson's younger brother, but over time we grew apart. Now Dad and Derek are very good friends and see each other almost every day, much like Theo and I.
Isaac's POV
I leave the building with Jackson, but we soon split up, he goes to lacrosse practice and I go home like a grounded baby to study. I see my brother and Theo in the school hallway and go to them.
- Hey jerk - I say, slapping Liam on the head.
- Get lost Isaac - he complains.
- We were talking about Jackson's party, you're not going, right? - asks Theo. I can't believe my brother has already been telling everyone what happened. Not that Theo would matter to me, but knowing Liam, he already told half the school.
- Seriously man, you can't even stand to shut up for a day? - I say irritated.
- Come on Isaac, I only told Theo because if dad doesn't let me go to the party he'll help me leave.
-Ahhh little brother, how rebellious you are! - I exclaim, ruffling his hair.
- Shut up, idiot - Liam says, slapping me on the palm of my hand. We all laughed.
At that point we saw Dad's car. Damn, I was hoping our mom would come get us. I don't even know how I'm going to face Dad after this morning, I really have to learn to control myself. We say goodbye to Theo and head towards the car.
-Good afternoon- we say politely.
-Good afternoon boys, how was school today? - he asks.
- It was cool, but I have a lot of homework to do - Liam replies, excited and upset at the same time. Dad smiles.
We get in the car and dad tells us that mom will be home a little later today. I sit in the backseat again, I still don't feel ready to be next to Dad.
-Isaac, as soon as we get home you go up to your room, change your clothes and wait for me there so we can talk - Dad says looking into my eyes in the mirror.
I try to hold his look, but I can't, so I quickly look to the side and nod.
Seriously, one more talk with Dad? I know exactly what yesterday's conversation resulted in, I just hope this one doesn't have the same ending. I snuggle up on the benches, god, how I wish I had my cell phone and headphones here to listen to my music, at least that way I would always be distracted and not think about the damn conversation
It's going to be a long trip!
