"Abigail. Abigail. Abi, wake up."
No response.Jessa shook her again, but Abigail just turned over, sleeping like the world could end and she wouldn't care. With a sigh of frustration, Jessa threw her hands up. She was about to give up when a mischievous grin crept across her face.
"Oh, I've got something for you," she muttered, dashing out of the room.
Moments later, she was back from the kitchen, holding a cold bottle of water. She tiptoed closer like a villain about to strike, then splashed it on her.
The screams of Abigail echoed through the house.
"What the hell, Jessa?!" Abigail shrieked, shooting up in bed, soaked and shivering.
Jessa laughed. "Oh, come on. You should be thanking me. It's 8:20 AM, and you're still dead asleep."
The color drained from Abigail's face. She grabbed her phone just to confirm, she knew how mischievous Jessa could be sometime. But she wasn't lieing now. Worst thing she had a class that was about to start.
"Shit!" she yelped, jumping out of bed-only to stumble backwards and crash to the floor.
She groaned, lying on her back. The ceiling spun above her like a carousel.
"Oh, Abigail. Still not over the hangover?" Jessa asked, rushing over. She gently gathered Abigail's messy hair and tied it into a bun.
Abigail shook her head in response.
"Wanna throw up?"
Another weak nod.
"Alright. Up we go." Jessa helped her off the floor and guided her into the bathroom.

It was already 9:45 AM by the time Abigail came out of her room, she accepted her fate that she wasn't going to meet up her first class, so she took her time with getting ready.
Going down the stairs, she held onto the rail for support and counting each step she took like it might collapse beneath her.
In the dining area, Jessa was waiting with a smug grin.
"You look so radiant this morning, darling. What's your secret?" she teased, snickering.
Abigail just mouthed, "FUCK YOU." to her in reply
Sam, who'd just stepped out of the kitchen, burst out laughing.
"Here," she said warmly, pecking Abigail's forehead and handing her a steaming bowl of hangover soup. "Drink this."
"I love you," Abigail murmured, taking the bowl and returning the kiss on Sam's forehead.
Sam gave her a look. "Why did you drink so much last night, Abi? Don't tell me it was because of him."
"Oh, come on," Jessa cut in. "Seeing Isaac and Jane together isn't exactly new."
"But she still has every right to be angry and jealous," Sam replied. "That bitch stole her man."
"Well, technically, Isaac was never her man," Jessa countered. "Even though she did go behind Abi's back."
Abigail sat quietly, watching her two best friends bicker about last night the night she let loose, more than usual. But they didn't know the full story.
Not yet.

Venero College - Later That Morning
Abigail's boots echoed sharply on the polished marble floors of Venero College as she raced through the corridors, clutching her bag and sketchbooks. Her hangover was mostly gone, thanks to the soup-but her head still throbbed with every step.
Please God don't let the professor lock me out, she prayed silently.
Then-BANG.
She slammed into someone around the corner.
Her sketchbook, loose papers, and pens scattered across the floor.
"Shit!" she cursed, rubbing her forehead. She now wondered the kind of chest the guy she just bumped into had, she could even say she just ran into a brick wall.
"I'm so-" she started, looking up.
Her words stopped. Her heart dropped. Shock written all over her face.
"God, not him. Not now," she thought bitterly.
